Recently, public security in Changchun City has deteriorated. Policemen do not take care of serious criminal cases. Instead, they specialize in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, even spreading some rumors to create a horrible atmosphere, agitating people's peace of mind. Changchun City's Police Authority spread the rumor that Falun Gong practitioners would kill 500 boys and girls. Then, police officers spread this rumor in a meeting with officials from five counties near Changchun City. Recently, the rumor had spread to Songyuan City, Baishan City and other places. The authorities attempted to find another excuse to persecute Falun Gong.

In recent days, citizens often hear the sound of fire alarms in Changchun City. They had thought fires were inevitable, due to the big spring wind. In actuality, they discovered that these were arson fires which were not covered due to the police focusing on matters other than keeping the public safe from the true criminals.

In order to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa by our great Teacher, Dafa practitioners clarified the truth and exposed the evil to the public. Practitioners went into the streets, shopping centers and some public areas to hand out Dafa truth-clarifying literature and material, which was welcomed by local citizens. People all eagerly asked for the truth-clarifying materials. This activity effectively shocked the evil.

[Huanghua City, Hebei Province] Vicious Policeman Kidnap and then Torture Dafa Practitioners

Since May, a group of vicious policemen led by Chi Jinzhu and Kang Xuebo from Huanghua City of Hebei Province monitored, followed and kidnapped Dafa practitioners by staking out certain spots. Recently, seven practitioners were arrested. Among them, Ms. Wang Haiyan and Ms. Yang Jie were tortured nearly to death.

[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Torture of Dafa Practitioners to Paralysis or Mental Breakdown in the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp

When Dafa practitioners were kidnapped to the forced labor camp, the mid-level division chiefs or other wardens would first meet them and pretend to be kind to them. Then three or four collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who went astray due to brainwashing and torture] would be dispatched to take turns brainwashing practitioners by depriving them of sleep. If practitioners did not give up their belief in ten days they were tortured--beaten with fists, kicked, or shocked with electric batons. One practitioner was so badly electrically shocked that his upper body was covered with burns.

Another practitioner was beaten so severely that he could not get up for a few days. Yet another was tortured to the point of being paralyzed. The inhuman mid-level division chief still fiercely beat her and often aggressively said, "I was polite already; there will be no freedom for those who will not be transformed; don't talk and don't move."

Practitioner Ms. Wang went to clarify the truth to the division chief Liu. As soon as she started, chief Liu slandered her immediately and the words were too dirty to hear. Chief Liu handcuffed her; other division chiefs came along, beat her and tortured her endlessly, which eventually caused her mental collapse. The prison doctor did not treat her. Instead, he accused her of pretending to be sick. As policemen they did not feel any guilt torturing Dafa practitioners to disability. Chief Liu has retired, but she shows no sign of repentance. Again she went to the brainwashing class, continuing her evildoings.

[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Torture Cases of Dafa Practitioners

1. Recently, the Court of Justice in Daqing City secretly convened again to illegally sentence practitioners: Ms. Liu Li, five years of imprisonment, Ms. Pu Yingshu, six years of imprisonment and Wang Ju, six years of imprisonment.
2. Daqing practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuzhen and her husband, a non-practitioner, were arrested on their way to visit her parents. Their home was ransacked. They are now detained and their daughter's whereabouts are unknown.
3. Datong Dafa practitioner Ms. Shi Yuxia was arrested at her home and her home was ransacked. She is now detained. Ms. Chen Xiuying from the No. 7 factory was arrested at her singles apartment for no reason. Ms. Tian Xiubo from the No. 8 factory was arrested at home without any valid reason. Mr. Jiang Qibo, along with his wife and younger sister, were arrested at his owner-operated hardware store. Ms. Su Guomei was arrested on her way to see her friends. Ms. Zhang Shumei and her husband were arrested at their home without any valid reason.
4. Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Yuzhen and her husband from the Donghu District of Daqing City were arrested at home when they came back on the second day. Policemen ransacked their home on the first day when the couple was out and stayed at their place for the night, playing games and drinking. Policemen also took away their expensive tape-recorder.
5. Ms. Chen Fengzhen from No. 5 factory was arrested at home and placed in detention. She has been on a hunger strike for one and a half months to protest the illegal detention. Every day in the jail she shouted out "Falun Dafa is Great. Restore the reputation of Falun Dafa. Restore the reputation of the Teacher." Dafa practitioners Jin Xiulian from No. 8 factory, Liu Shufen from Chengfeng and Pu Yingjie also joined the hunger strike.
6. Dafa practitioner Zhang Zhong from Lahua was beaten in the city's police department. He fainted on the floor and foamed from the mouth. No one took care of him for five or six hours, and his face turned black and blue without any uninjured area. Ms. Zheng Wenqin was hung up and beaten for a day and night. Ms. He Lihua was beaten black and blue. Ms. Chen Xiuli's fingers and back of neck were pierced with bamboo sticks.
7. Dafa practitioner Jiang Derong was taken away by force after the police pried the door to her home open. Her home was also ransacked. Now her husband has no place to go.

8. Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang Decui was arrested at home without any valid reason and her home was ransacked. When the police beat her last year they injured her shoulder, which has not recovered. She was illegally detained after the labor camp rejected her for her poor physical condition. Similar situations also happened to practitioners Ms. Deng Anmei and Ms. Tang Zengye who were rejected by the labor camp but illegally detained anyway.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Female Dafa Practitioner Xiang Qinghua from Qingshiqiao is Partially Paralyzed Due to Abuse and Mistreatment

Ever since Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiang Qinghua from Qingshiqiao of Wuchang District, Wuhan City started to practice Falun Gong she has always been very healthy. In November 2000, in order to validate Dafa, Xiang Qinghua went to Beijing. After being escorted back to Wuhan, some lawless policemen forcibly abducted her to the No.6 Division of the Hewan Forced Labor Camp. Neither the forced long hours of physical labor nor the deceptive brainwashing there could shake her determined belief in Dafa. She was beaten for practicing the exercises. Her health deteriorated daily; her hair became white; she became deaf, her eyes became blurry and she couldn't walk. Seeing her condition was becoming worse and worse and being afraid of taking the responsibility, vicious policemen from the No.6 Division released her ahead of time. However, Ms. Xiang has already become partially paralyzed due to the abuse. Her family members and neighbors could hardly recognize her. After coming back home, she is still unable to get out of bed and walk any distance and is in extremely poor health.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Yangyuan Brainwashing Class is a Private Concentration Camp

Yangyuan brainwashing class located in the Wuchang District, Wuhan City is a place designed to hold Falun Gong practitioners. A wall covered with broken glass and wire mesh surrounds the grounds, making it look exactly like a complete concentration camp. There are 14 rooms on each floor and in each room two surveillance cameras are installed.

Rooms 1 to 13 hold Dafa practitioners. Room 14 is the policemen's monitoring office. Every room is equipped with a monitor. We are locked in the rooms all day long. We are not able to see sunlight and have completely lost our freedom. Dafa practitioners are constantly abused, mistreated and beaten. At noon on March 29, 2002, Dafa practitioner Mr. Peng Weisheng, father of Dafa practitioner Peng Min who was tortured to death, was locked in Room 305 on the third floor. For unknown reasons, four to five people took Peng outside on the grounds and made him sit down. It was raining hard and there was water everywhere on the ground. They took some photos of him. After Peng sat on the ground for a while, they made him stand up and took him to a room and tortured him for an unknown length of time before they carried him back to his cell on the third floor. There are also solitary confinement cells in the brainwashing class and the vicious staff can apply instruments of torture on practitioners at any time. It's exactly a private prison and it has become a place for mobsters to do evil. When they beat up Dafa practitioners we all shouted, "Don't beat people." However, they turned around and said, "Who saw us beating? You are against the government and counterrevolutionary by doing this."

[Hebei Province] The Universe Displays an Extraordinary Sign: Double Rings Surround the Sun and Three Suns Manifest Themselves

At 6:00 a.m. on May 24, 2002, a huge ring surrounded the sun and looked like a beautiful rainbow. At 6:30 a.m., a second ring appeared and almost covered the sky on the whole east side. Between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., two [illusory] suns symmetrically appeared on both sides of the sun. At about 8:00 a.m., the outer ring began to vanish. The inner ring gradually vanished by 12:00 noon.

Seeing this extraordinary phenomenon, people passed the news by word of mouth, "A great event is going to take place, and we'd better accumulate virtue and do good deeds!"
