When the persecution of Dafa first started
On July 22, 1999, fellow practitioners and I were detained for appealing to the government. During that afternoon the Jiang regime had broadcasted the "Announcement by the Civil Ministry," which made the persecution of Falun Gong official. A policeman asked us, "What do you think after watching the announcement?" "It's slander," answered one voice that spoke for all the Dafa practitioners present. Then many Dafa practitioners answered in unison, "Yes, it is slander!" As the policemen turned around to look for the first practitioner who spoke out, I saw the practitioner's compassionate and peaceful smile. That smile was magnificent. It displayed the purest heart of a Dafa practitioner that was also fearless. I deeply understood the real meaning of clear wisdom, which is a manifestation of a Dafa practitioner's unshakable faith in Dafa.
The case of a practitioner who attained Dafa while in jail
In October of 2000, a female inmate charged for financial crimes was detained together with Dafa practitioners. Since all the other people who were detained in the cell were practitioners, the police also took this criminal as a practitioner. She admired the behavior of the practitioners and subsequently attained Dafa. Even though the guards knew that she was not a practitioner, they handcuffed, shackled, and hung her in the corridor because she was reciting the Fa and doing the exercises. They then attempted to force her to say that she would quit practicing, but she refused to comply with them. She conducted herself according to the standard of a Dafa practitioner, clarified the truth to newcomers in the jail, and generously allowed others use her toiletries. She said that even though she had never seen Teacher or read Zhuan Falun, she knew that Dafa practitioners were great after being around them so much. She also believed in Dafa and Master Li, learned to do the Falun Gong exercises, recited Hong Yin, Essentials for Further Advancement, and sent forth righteous thoughts. She cultivated herself, got rid of attachments, and experienced the great benevolence of Master Li.
Another case of a practitioner who attained Dafa in jail
There was a smuggler who after being imprisoned in the same cell as practitioners, obtained the Fa. She had a dream on the third day after she obtained Dafa. In the dream she was in a classroom but had no textbooks. Master Li then put books on her desk. She saw three books, and the middle one was hers. She accepted the book with both of her hands and was moved to tears, and then she woke up in the middle of the night crying.
Dafa practitioners in Hubei Province overcome the persecution against them from their local "610 Office"
In mid-June of 2002, three Dafa practitioners in Hubei Province were arrested for distributing Dafa materials and going to Beijing to appeal. In order to protest their detention, then practitioners went on a hunger strike together in jail. Twelve days later the local "610 Office" sentenced them for 2 years at a forced labor camp. After being sent to the labor camp, the three resisted the persecution with their righteous thoughts obtained through cultivation in Dafa. When the labor camp conducted a physical to determine their health, the practitioners were diagnosed as having high blood pressure and heart disease, and the labor camp refused to accept them. After another 12 days they were released.
