(Clearwisdom.net) In the past few days, Dafa disciples from locations in the United States such as California, New York, etc. have conducted activities to clarify the truth and expose the persecution regarding the show trial going on in Hong Kong. On August 2 in front of the Ottawa Parliament Building, Canadian Dafa practitioners sent an open letter to the Hong Kong government and held a press conference regarding the Hong Kong police authorities' prosecuting the Swiss and Hong Kong practitioners, calling for the world's attention and help in ending this political trial, and showing their concern for whether Hong Kong can maintain its status as a free society.

On March 14 of this year, sixteen Falun Gong practitioners, including four Swiss citizens, were violently dragged away by the Hong Kong police while conducting a peaceful appeal on the street outside the Chinese Liaison Office building. They were subsequently charged by the Hong Kong police with "obstructing traffic" and "assaulting the police." This trial opened on June 17, and according to reports, the final so-called court session is to be held on Monday August 5, Hong Kong time.

The so-called charges of "obstructing traffic" and "assaulting the police" by the Hong Kong authorities are utterly ridiculous. It can be clearly seen from on-site video footage of the appeal and just looking at the numbers that on the spacious sidewalk outside the Chinese Liaison Office, the appealing Falun Gong practitioners took up a very small amount of room and did not obstruct any officials or pedestrians from entering or exiting the building, or just passing by. It is even less feasible to call the banners that the practitioners held in their hands obstructions. It is even less likely for the Falun Gong practitioners to assault the police when the hordes of policemen clearly arrested the practitioners with violence. The Hong Kong police authorities conducted the forceful arrest without a warrant, which was in itself an illegal activity. Meanwhile, this so-called trial that was scheduled to last eleven working days has been extended time and time again. During the trial, the judge often spoke from the same perspective as the prosecutor, and the court's decisions were obviously biased.

Currently this case has created widespread concern in the international community regarding whether Hong Kong can really carry out the policy of "one country, two systems." On July 23, 2002 the British government published its semi-annual report on developments happening in Hong Kong. The British government's report expressed concern over Hong Kong's beginning to suppress protests. The report cited this case and pointed out the irony of the fact that after arresting sixteen Falun Gong practitioners for "obstructing traffic," the Hong Kong authorities dug up the street and erected barricades at the same spot. The British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw stated that, "It is vital... that the basic rights and freedoms afforded to the people of Hong Kong through the Joint Declaration and the Basic Law continue to be upheld." The report went on to say that the British government "believes that freedom of assembly and freedom of speech must not be compromised..."

Then as Dafa cultivators, how should we regard this show trial and its trumped up charges? Some Dafa disciples in North American and Europe, through some recent discussions, believe that this is fundamentally targeted at Dafa, at the entire body of Dafa disciples (in particular the entire body of disciples living outside of China), and it is an extension of the acts of destroying overseas practitioners' cars, breaking into the overseas practitioners' homes, harassing and intimidating American officials who openly support the Falun Gong practitioners' right to cultivate freely, and the whole chain of activities by Jiang's gang after the events in Germany, Iceland and Hong Kong. This matter calls for the entire body of overseas Dafa disciples to pay special attention to it based on the Fa, diligently break through the persecution together and destroy these arrangements by the old forces.

Dafa disciples all over the world are one whole body. During the Fa-rectification period, the persecution against any region or any individual Dafa disciple is persecution aimed at Fa-rectification and persecution aimed at the entire body of Dafa disciples. Every one of us Dafa disciples should take special care to compassionately clear away the gaps in location and understanding among practitioners caused by the old forces. We should use righteous thoughts to clear away the suppression and interference applied to our thinking by the old evil forces in other dimensions. When we deal with any matter, we need to remember to place Dafa as the first priority and place ourselves as Dafa disciples in the Fa-rectification period as secondary -- only then can we handle things well.

Although these trumped up charges are acted out by the Hong Kong police authorities, the Chinese Liaison Office are the ones behind the scenes, and Jiang is the chief perpetrator of this persecution. In turn it is the old evil forces, attached to interfering with Fa-rectification, that are controlling Jiang to carry out all of these evil deeds. As Fa-rectification disciples, we need to constantly maintain a calm, clear mind. We need to remember that this is the evil's persecution of Dafa and the entire body of Dafa disciples -- a contest between righteousness and evil, and not a persecution of ordinary people against other people. Therefore, no matter what form of persecution that the evil carries out towards us, we just need to use the righteous thoughts of Fa-rectification disciples, remember that we are one whole body of Fa-rectification disciples, and seize every opportunity to clarify the truth and expose the evil. Then our righteous energy field will continuously eliminate in great quantities those evil elements that are controlling people and truly causing the persecution. This process of Dafa disciples using their righteous thoughts and righteous actions is in itself fundamentally denying the old forces arrangements from the basis of the entire body, and putting an end to the evil's challenge to the Dafa (Great Law) of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

Every telephone call, every fax, every letter, every press conference, every group appeal -- on the surface these are actions at this level of humans, but as the Fa-rectification process progresses forward and the remaining evil becomes less and less, righteous elements will be able to manifest their power in this dimension more and more.

Let's turn this show trial in Hong Kong into an opportunity for the entire body of overseas Dafa disciples to clarify the truth to the people of the world in a more comprehensive and profound way. Let all of us, the entire body of Dafa disciples, deny and break through the evil forces' arrangements and persecution as one entity.
