The Jiang Regime Is the Real Public Enemy: Response To Slander By the Chinese Embassy in the USA

Aug. 6, 2002 |   By Yu Ming

(Clearwidsom.net) I thought the recent remarks by some Chinese ambassadors stationed in the USA, who against their conscience, told lies about Falun Gong, was really despicable. They are in fact accomplices to the Jiang regime in its persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, spoke in March 1999 at the New York Falun Dafa Experience-sharing Conference,

"I can proclaim here to everyone in all earnestness that all of those alleged catastrophes on earth, the doom of the universe, and things of this sort in the year 1999 are absolutely nonexistent."

However, Xie Feng, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy lied to the media that Falun Gong spreads doomsday theories and the potential explosion of the Earth. Mr. Li's speech had been published and can be read online. Xie Feng is indeed making irresponsible and untrue remarks.

The health benefits of Falun Gong were well documented back in 1998 in a survey by Xiehe University of Medical Science and No.1 Military Medical University in China. The Jiang regime claimed that 1700 people died from practicing Falun Gong. Let us take a look at the statistics. The death rate of China is 0.65% annually. As the official statistics went, among the 2,300,000 people who practiced Falun Gong, in the course of seven years, 1700 people died. The death rate among Falun Gong practitioners would work out less than 0.01% annually, much lower than the average level. In addition, in China 200,000 -- 300, 000 people died of suicide annually, which worked out to a suicide death rate of 0.167%- 0.25%, assuming a total population of 1.2 billion. In comparison, the government claimed that in the past seven years, 650 Falun Gong practitioners committed suicide. Assuming that was true (in fact, most of the data are false), it would work out to 90 people per year, which translated into a suicide death rate of 0.004% among Falun Dafa practitioners, and again it is much lower than the average level. If Xie did his math, he might consider correcting those numbers next time he speaks to the media.

What Xie called a "Public Enemy" is most fitting for the Jiang regime. One may not have thought about it had he not brought it up. The public enemies to human civilizations have always been the totalitarian regimes who in a self-proclaimed noble name butchered their own people. The Cultural Revolution, where the ruling regime murdered so many of its own people, was a prime example. Nowadays, the Jiang regime has mobilized its resources to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, causing the suffering of millions of people, deaths of over a thousand, and imprisonment of tens of thousands, making it an unprecedented injustice in Chinese history. Isn't Jiang a public enemy?

The Jiang regime has attempted to incite hatred against Falun Gong in many parts of the world, with an all out effort, sending out hate literature to heads of state, using satellite TV to broadcast the case of a mental health patient who killed his parents and claimed to be a Falun Gong practitioner, killing Liu Chunling (female), one of the four victims at the so-called Tiananmen Self-immolation incident and blaming it on Falun Gong. Isn't Jiang the public enemy?

The Jiang regime has controlled citizens' access to the Internet, mobilizing Internet police, intercepting mail of Falun Gong practitioners, blacklisting practitioners, depriving its citizens' rights and freedom, and implementing state terrorism. Isn't that the work of a public enemy?

The hope of human beings lies in the human heart and the improvement of moral standards. Yet the violence, malice, and lies of the Jiang regime are suffocating people's pursuit of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," distorting the kind-hearted nature of people. Isn't he a public enemy to civilization?

The Jiang regime attempted to use the SINOSAT Incident to further turn the public's opinion against Falun Gong. However, it only exposed the fact that Jiang himself trampled the citizens' freedom of speech. National TV is funded by taxpayer's money. It should be used to reflect the facts and people's voices. Instead, it was used as Jiang's mouthpiece to slander the innocent. What Falun Dafa practitioners did, if in fact they did override the official TV signals, was to broadcast the truth of Falun Gong, and was exercising their rights and freedom guaranteed by the Chinese Constitution and safeguarding the public's right to know. Jiang is a dictator who has been trampling international law and the Chinese Constitution. No one is buying Jiang's logic. The so-called SINOSAT incident was just another desperate attempt to salvage something in his measures against Falun Gong. The recent unanimously passed resolution by the Congress of the United States condemning the persecution of Falun Gong in China is an example of true public opinion.

Three years of a peaceful journey can attest to the compassion of Falun Gong. The bloodshed of Falun Gong practitioners as well as the suffering of their families and friends can testify to Jiang's brutality. Truth will prevail over lies and kindness will prevail over evil. All evil deeds will meet with evil returns.
