Showing Our Compassion for Sentient Beings in our Truth-Clarifying TV Programs

I would like to share with you my understanding and some of my recent experiences. Please correct me if I say anything inappropriate.

I have been producing truth-clarifying TV programs. In order to help ordinary people to better understand the programs, we need to keep their needs and mindsets in mind when we create the programs. We do this out of compassion for sentient beings, and we can achieve better results this way. One of the reasons that some of our programs are not as well accepted as we would like is that we ourselves don't have a deep enough understanding of the Fa principles. That is, we don't quite understand the meaning of "maximally conform to the ways of the ordinary human society while cultivating." (Dafa Is All-Encompassing)

When we, as a whole, first began to practice Falun Dafa, getting rid of all attachments had both physical and mental manifestations. Today, as we practice Falun Dafa among everyday people, practitioners sometimes give up or dislike some things in this world because they feel those things are impure. This attitude is not wrong during individual cultivation. However, it can be a reason for our not understanding those things very well. Then we are unable to achieve the state of "using at will" when clarifying the truth to people.

We are in the Fa-rectification cultivation period right now. We need to use all sorts of means to clarify the truth to people who are lost in this world. This requires us to speak to them using reasons that they can understand. We even have to follow the logic of their attachments. Didn't Teacher also tell us this? Teacher said, "It's hard to save people nowadays. You have to explain things to them by following the logic of their attachments. For the sake of saving them, don't create any obstacles for them." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa) I realized that this is a manifestation of the magnificent compassion of Fa-rectification Dafa disciples. People who cultivated in the past tried their best to avoid this type of communication because they were afraid that their attachments would be aroused if they talked to people this way. However, we use this method to clarify the truth and to save the sentient beings in this confusing world. During this process, we can uncover the root cause of our attachments so that we can remove them completely. This is how we establish our great mighty virtue.

Didn't those enlightened beings who came down to this world to save people use the same method also? They "... walk the earth with a human image, and use human language to make Fa-principles known." ("The Vows of Gods are Being Fulfilled," Essentials for Further Advancement II) Initially, they helped people who had predestined relationships to recognize the beauty of cultivation with ordinary people's notions so that their Buddha nature would then guide them into cultivation. Then they helped people to get rid of their attachments during cultivation. I realized that we need to do the same in our mission to save sentient beings.

However, when viewing our TV programs as a whole, I observed that we used similar formats for all of those programs. We did not show enough everyday people's beauty that accords with the moral requirements of human beings. While we think cultivation is the most beautiful thing after we obtain the Fa, ordinary people might not have the same perception. Thus the themes of our TV programs should be the issues that everyday people care about. We need to think about what they can do to live a better life, and what the requirements of the Fa are for everyday people. I think that when we have a better understanding about these questions, we will be able to more appropriately clarify the truth on topics and subjects that everyday people comprehend. We won't be stuck in our own notions. I think this process also shows how we get out of individual cultivation and show our magnificent compassion toward sentient beings.
