I have found that some fellow practitioners, during the Fa-rectification period, are unable to view things entirely based on the Fa. Some of us have unintentionally mixed experiences, lessons, mindsets, and notions that we have accumulated from thousands of years of human history into our Fa-rectification cultivation. When faced with persecution, some practitioners completely lose their righteous enlightenment from their original nature. They view the persecution with their human side. If they don't correct this view, they will be unable to fully step out of humanness and the restrictions of human notions. They will suffer long-term tribulations, continually stagnating in a state of passivity and humanness. The following are some common misunderstandings.
- They don't realize that this is a persecution of practitioners by the evil, instead of a persecution of ordinary people by ordinary people.
- We are persecuted because we have omissions in our hearts, not because what we are doing is wrong.
- Some practitioners didn't firmly believe the truth revealed in the Fa. Instead they were affected by the illusions in this world.
Some practitioners talk about "persecution by the evil." However, they don't fully understand what "persecution by the evil" really means. Ordinary people are just puppets being manipulated by the old evil forces. Low-level beings within the Three Realms have directed ordinary people to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. The ordinary people themselves are incapable of doing this. Teacher said,
"An everyday person is feeble before a cultivator. Today's humans have in fact had tribulations arranged for them by this system of the old forces at different levels, and humans have been controlled by the old forces at different levels. This is why they've become so forceful, why they dare to do things to cultivators, and why they dare to be disrespectful to Dafa." (Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference)
So although it appears to be the vicious police or evil people who try to hurt us, actually it is the evil beings behind them.
A fellow practitioner asked me whether I was being monitored. I answered, "Ordinary people's monitoring us is just a superficial manifestation. It is actually the evil beings in other dimensions that monitor our words and actions all the time. A practitioner will be persecuted if he or she has ordinary people's attachments. It is just like ordinary people getting ill. Karma or an ordinary person's attachments are the root causes of the illness. You will not get ill if you don't have sickness karma and ordinary person's attachments."
The excuse used by the old evil forces to persecute us is that we have omissions in our hearts instead of our doing things incorrectly. Practitioners are persecuted not because they left fingerprints behind or because they were monitored. Teacher told us, "Everything that the evil has done has actually targeted the attachments and fears that you have not let go of." (Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)) Teacher also said, "My only concern is that Dafa disciples themselves won't be firm inside; when there's some kind of attachment, some kind of fear, or what not, then the old forces see it and take advantage of the omissions and persecute them." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa) Teacher told us to learn the Fa well. "The best way to deal with this situation is for Dafa disciples to walk their paths righteously, to try their best not to let the evil or the old forces take advantage of their gaps, and to solidify their righteous thoughts." (Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston) Teacher also said, "In practicing cultivation of our school, you will not have any problems as long as you can conduct your xinxing well, since one righteous mind can subdue one hundred evils." (Lecture Three in Zhuan Falun) "When you conduct yourselves righteously Master can do anything for you." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa) So whether a practitioner will be persecuted or not doesn't depend simply on how many safety precautions he or she has taken.
I don't mean that we should ignore safety concerns among everyday people, since we need to be rational. I am talking about the basis on which we are viewing this safety issue. It is not enough to just follow everyday people's safety guidelines. The key is that we are Falun Dafa practitioners. We are not a group of people working in the underground. Teacher wants our hearts to be good. When our hearts are correctly positioned, everything will turn out well.
The Fa that Teacher has taught to us is the truth of the universe, while all the superficial manifestations in this world are just illusions. It will be extremely difficult to pass the tests we are given if we fail to see the truth of the persecution based on the Fa. Then we will be unable to join the Fa-rectification and Fa-rectification cultivation.
There are few evil beings left. They can only seek to ruin the Fa in some small areas. They run away whenever a practitioner holds his palm erect. So how can they dare to stay close to practitioners? It is because those practitioners analyze problems using an ordinary person's notions. They only see the superficial aspect of the persecution. Thus the evil finds excuses to persecute them.
A few days ago, an evil policeman called a few fellow practitioners and ordered them to report to the local police station. The practitioners had an attachment. They were afraid that they would be arrested and tortured, so they left home and went from place to place. They later gathered together and realized that Fa-rectification Dafa disciples are as righteous gods. They said, "We are here to eliminate the evil. How can we be scared away by the evil? They should be afraid of us. They would be scared away if they see us hold our palms erect. We should not have left home. We should go back." So they went home. Sure enough, the evil did not dare to hurt them after they returned. If we viewed the situation using an ordinary person's logic, we would expect them to be arrested on their return.
During Fa-rectification cultivation, we need to study the Fa as much as possible. We need to remember the Fa as much as possible, so that we will always be solidifying our understanding of the Fa principles. We should recognize and get rid of any interference from ordinary people's notions, and take the Fa as our guide. We need to talk about the Fa based on the Fa and understand the Fa from the Fa. Each and every thought should be a righteous thought coming from the Fa. Only by doing this, can we become diamond-like in our unwavering determination. Only in this way can we save sentient beings and assist Teacher in rectifying the Fa without obstruction.
