According to a family member of practitioner who was illegally detained at Dalian City's Forced Labor Camp, anyone who wanted to see his relative must curse Teacher first, otherwise he would not be allowed to be admitted. In addition, many slogans degrading Dafa and libeling Teacher are posted on the walls. Teacher's picture is put on the ground in the labor camp. People are forced to trample the picture. The lawless policemen in the labor camp are extremely vicious.

According to witnesses, one day in the middle of July 2002, a huge banner that explained the facts about the persecution of Dafa, 30 meters long and 3 meters wide, appeared beside an airstrip in Hainan Province's Meilan Airport. In the middle of the banner was a huge Falun emblem, which looked very bright and eye-catching.

All the passengers arriving or leaving the airport and all people in the waiting room opposite to the huge banner were amazed by Dafa's greatness.

Dafa practitioners held a ceremonious Fa Conference in Zhejian Province. Practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts together and studied Teacher's latest articles. Practitioners who were responsible for Dafa materials in each district discussed how to deliver Teacher's new articles and truth-clarifying materials, so Dafa practitioners would receive them in time. The discussion also centered on the topic of how to do a better job of telling the facts. Dafa practitioners from different districts briefed each other on every district's circumstances and shared experiences of explaining the facts. This conference completed successfully.

Liaozhong County's Political and Judiciary Committee and "610 Office" [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] secretly held a brainwashing class. Ten collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] took part in running the brainwashing class, which was planned to be ten sessions. Several Dafa practitioners have already been detained in this brainwashing class.

Dafa practitioners in Sichuan Province/Deyang City's Prison are detained in the No. 2 and No. 3 Divisions. Two prisoners and one guard monitor one practitioner. They follow the practitioner around the clock. Practitioners are not allowed to talk with each other. If practitioners do, guards would have several prisoners beat and kick practitioners. Practitioners are forced to face the wall or are exposed under the sun for 3 or 4 hours everyday. They are often deprived of sleep, or given very little to eat. Beatings happen daily. A 70-year-old veteran's hands and legs were beaten until they fractured. Recently, six or seven practitioners were brutally beaten and tortured. For example, after practitioner Mr. Pan Zhengguang practiced Falun Gong in public, he was inhumanly beaten. Now he is locked up in solitary confinement for further torture. Everyday practitioners are brutally tortured.

On the night of August 9, 2002, a practitioner witnessed personnel from Guangzhou City's "610 Office" arresting practitioner Xue Huirong in the street. She resisted arrest and shouted out for help.

At the end of July, three practitioners, Mr. Wang Hongbin, Mr. Li Lizhuang, and Mr. Ren Guozhi, illegally detained in Harbin City's Changlin Forced Labor Camp were sentenced.

Wang Hongbin's detention term was overdue because of his faithfulness to Dafa. His term was later arbitrarily extended by three months. After the extended detention term expired, he was still not released. Li Lizhuang and Ren Guozhi were sentenced for staging a hunger strike. Before long, they were locked up in a small cell for several months. [The detainee is individually locked up in a very small cell. The guards handcuff practitioners on their back in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no daylight enters. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to these detainees. During the night the rats scurry about. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.]

Since June 2002, several cases of policemen arresting practitioners happened in Hainan Province. Most practitioners were sent to brainwashing classes. All contact with the outside world was cut off. The officials in the brainwashing class use physical and mental torture to brainwash practitioners.

Hainan Province authorities periodically transfer people from the police department and the "610 Office" for special training. The topic of the training and one of the means they used was to brainwash Dafa practitioners by misrepresenting Teacher's words. At the same time, it was arranged that these trainees linked up with some collaborators [people who at one time had practiced Falun Dafa but have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture], eat and live with them and have heart-to-heart talks with them. After learning "experiences," these trainees then interfere with and make Dafa practitioners' lives miserable in their respective precinct.

Policemen from the Political & Security Section of Daqing City's Linyuan Police Precinct and the "610 Office" often harassed Dafa practitioner Zhan Yinge by going to his home, but the practitioner refused to let them in. At present, policemen are waiting downstairs for the practitioner, around the clock.

A Dafa practitioner's family consists of five members, including her husband, daughter, a blind sister-in-law and her adopted daughter. They lead a poor life. As the husband is small and weak, the burden of raising the family falls on the practitioner. She sells items at a market. Prior to the Spring Festival, she was arrested for distributing Dafa fact-explaining materials at that market. The whole family then lost their source of income. When her husband and his sister went to ask for her release, a woman working at the "610 Office" made a gesture of "counting money" and said, "If you want to get her back, give us this first."

The practitioner and many fellow practitioners staged a hunger strike in the detention center to protest the persecution. More than 20 days later she was sent to a hospital. She managed to escape during a trip to use the toilet. As the "610 Office" couldn't find her, they tricked her husband by saying, "We meant to release her, but how can we go through the procedures while she is not here? You should bring her back." The kind husband believed their lie and carried her into the police car. As a consequence she was forcibly sent to a forced labor camp. Then her family saw through the evil's trick, but it was too late. Her husband was very regretful and said, "It's me who caused trouble to her, and it's me who sent her to the forced labor camp." The blind sister-in-law was very worried and was at that time diagnosed with breast cancer. The whole family is now in a dreadful situation.
