Zhao Yuezhen, female, 48 years old, was from Zhaojiadian Village, Jiaoxi Town, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. Under the pressure and brutal torture from the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], she passed away at 6 p.m. on June 12, 2002.

Zhao started to practice Falun Gong in late 1998. She had many diseases and was cured after practicing Falun Gong. After the persecution started, she went to Beijing in October 2000 to appeal for Falun Gong. She was detained in the local police station for more than one month after she returned. Her family members were forced to bail her out with 2000 Yuan.

One night in mid June of 2001, Zhao's niece, Wang Qun, a practitioner who was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution, was arrested at her home by the police (now Wang is detained at Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City). Zhao was arrested on the charge of "harboring a criminal" and was sent to Zhangjiatun brainwashing center, where Dafa practitioners were forced to stay in rooms and were watched by security guards 24 hours every day. The tortures were beyond people's imagination. Some practitioners were beaten to the point that they could not move and had to crawl slowly to the restroom if they wanted to relieve themselves.

In this living hell, Zhao endured unbearable physical and mental torture, and her health deteriorated rapidly. The officials were afraid that she might die in the class so they released her after three months.

On April 22, 2002, the police broke into her home and found some Dafa truth-clarifying fliers. Her husband was arrested and detained in the city detention center. While her husband was in detention, the police came to her home to threaten her. Her son, who is not a practitioner, had to leave home. Her sister-in-law, a determined practitioner who was forced into homelessness to avoid persecution, was reported to the police, and was kidnapped and sent to Zhangjiatun brainwashing center on May 24, 2002.

This series of hardships of Zhao's family members traumatized Zhao greatly. She developed edema over her whole body, and was not attended to by anyone. She gradually deteriorated and then left this world. After Zhao's death, the police did not allow her husband to go home and prepare the funeral for her. A happy family was thus devastated by the Jiang regime.
