On the 18th of October, Scottish Dafa practitioners attended a human rights rally that was organized by Amnesty International at a Town Hall. This is the second year that Amnesty has invited practitioners to take part and many people greeted them when they entered the hall. They told the practitioners that after last year's meeting, several pictures of the practitioners appeared in the local newspaper.
A Falun Dafa stall was set up in the hall and then practitioners joined Amnesty International and other human rights organizations for a parade that was led by Scottish bagpipe players. In the town center, the practitioners were very busy handing out leaflets and holding banners. Members of another human rights organization voluntarily helped practitioners at various stages throughout the day. Some gave out leaflets and others held banners. When the parade had finished, a lady who was helping practitioners to fold the banners said, "I am willing to hold a banner entitled "The World Needs Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance"!"
Back at the Town Hall, the human rights conference continued. The practitioners' exercise demonstration was last to take to the stage. After the demonstration had finished, people started to come to the Dafa stall and sign the petition there. Some people took a stack of flyers and said that they would help to distribute them. A member of Amnesty International, who is responsible for their website, said that he wanted pictures of the Falun Gong exercises to put on the Amnesty International website. Later, the main Amnesty official thanked practitioners and asked them for more information about Falun Gong.
