Improving My Thoughts Regarding the Abduction of Charles Li

Feb. 26, 2003 |   By a U.S. Western practitioner

After group study, we discussed the kidnapping of Charles Li by the Chinese police upon his arrival in the Mainland on Jan. 22. One practitioner noted that Nancy Chen, a Dafa practitioner from Australia, had also been arrested, and she was sent back to Australia relatively quickly.

I discussed old force arrangements and how complicated relations are between the Chinese and U.S. governments. I was concerned that because the U.S. is asking for China's help regarding its actions towards Iraq and North Korea, it might not want to do anything to jeopardize those negotiations. We discussed how much conflict there has been between the two governments relative to Canadian and Australian relations with China. I also mentioned how complex the United States was compared to Canada, with almost as many people in the State of New York as there are in our northern neighbor.

I thought of the above as elements that had to be factored into the solution of freeing Charles.

Driving home, I felt contracted, mentally and physically, and I realized that my thinking was lower than my overall Xinxing level. Once I grasped that I was not understanding the Fa from the Fa, my whole pattern of thinking began to fall away.

I realized that my prior thinking was part of the problem, not the solution. Master Li has referred to the Earth as a speck of dust in the cosmos. How could the cultural and political differences between Western countries amount to anything when viewed from a high level?

In "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.," Master Li stated,

"As I've said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts. Even though the old forces do exist, if you don't have those thoughts they can't do anything."

So, my thoughts about those "obstacles" were helping those obstacles to exist.

A year ago, I participated in a large event for introducing Dafa to the public. On the second day I was there, the police blocked off the streets leading to the Falun Dafa site, saying they had orders not to let us in because the streets were already too crowded, although the area did not look any more congested than the day before. Many of us tried to find another way in, unsuccessfully.

Finally, we were gathered together again and someone said, "Something is wrong here." He pointed out that some non-practitioners, for various reasons, were being allowed in. How could we, who were validating the Fa, not be allowed to enter? We stood our ground and sent forth righteous thoughts.

Then, I felt reality shift. While we were sending forth righteous thoughts, I was watching the policemen. At the moment I felt the shift, the policemen became silent and suddenly lifted the barricade, allowing us to enter. None of them had received new orders, nor did they say anything.

In a similar manner, our righteous thoughts and diligent efforts in using Charles Li's case to more thoroughly clarify the truth to society can and will change reality.

Please correct any incorrect understandings that I might have.
