(Clearwisdom.net) In order to assist with the rescue of Japanese practitioner Ms.Yoko Kaneko, who is detained in China, Canadian Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lin Shenli came to Japan and appealed to Japanese society to help rescue Yoko Kaneko.
Lin Shenli and some Japanese practitioners visited the council members of Miyagi County. After hearing the truth of Falun Dafa and the cruel tortures Ms. Yoko Kaneko is experiencing, the council members with just hearts took the initiative to organize a press conference and contacted the reporters. One council member even hosted the press conference in person.
The press conference was held in the Miyagi county Government Reporters' club on February 26, 2003. Reporters from six different media attended. The Japanese practitioners first introduced Falun Gong to the reporters and talked about the cruel persecution of Faun Gong practitioners in China. He also introduced the background information of how Ms. Kaneko was illegally detained. Then, he introduced the ways in which practitioners have tried to rescue Ms. Kaneko in Japan and all around the world. Lin Shenli then talked about his own experiences of being tortured in the forced labor camp, including long hours of heavy labor work, being beaten up, and forced brainwashing. The practitioners being detained in China's forced labor camps are at risk of losing their lives at any time. Mr. Lin appealed to the Japanese government, parliament and people from walks of life to support and rescue Ms. Kaneko from the evil den as soon as possible. At the same time, he also called on Japanese media to pay more attention to Ms. Kaneko's situation from a human rights perspective, and give it objective, fair and wide reports. The reporters carefully listened to the speech and took notes.
After the speech, Mr. Lin Shenli answered questions from the reporters. The council member who attended the press conference was deeply moved by Lin Shenli's speech. He said that if it wasn't for Mr. Lin's personal experience, he could never have imagined that the Jiang's Regime was using such inhuman methods to torture Falun Gong practitioners. He said he wanted to know more about Falun Gong.
On February 27, 2003, another press conference was held in the Reporters' Club in the government building of Iwate County. Reporters from thirteen different media attended. They also expressed their concern about the persecution that Ms. Yoko Kaneko and other Falun Gong practitioners have experienced in China and asked many detailed questions.
Through dealing and talking with the reporters, the practitioners participating in the activities felt the importance of keeping righteous minds and clarifying the truth.
