The Wanjia Hospital is a hospital affiliated with the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. Patients are all inmates from nearby detention centers and forced labor camps. On average there is a death case every four or five days. Some died because of inadequate treatment, and others were beaten to death by cellmates and then sent to the hospital. Forensic physicians simply fill out certificates to have the corpse carried away. Many Falun Dafa practitioners have not only failed to receive any medical treatment in the hospital, but have instead been viciously beaten and abused. So far, many Falun Dafa practitioners have died at the Wanjia Hospital.

Since they started hunger striking, Zhao Liwei and Wang Haisheng have been barbarically force-fed. Their lives are in imminent danger.

It has been learned that Mr. Hu Zhiming, whose home phone number is 86-311-6838745, has been besieged at his home. Members of the Hebei Province "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], officers from the North Shengli Street Police Station, and cadres of the residential committee in the No. 4 living quarters of the Chemical Fertilizer Factory have surrounded his home for over four days, starting April 4. These people are staking out the hallway and stairways around the clock in an attempt to capture Hu as soon as he steps out of his home.

Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Xiuling is from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. Her daughter Chen Ying went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong after July 20, 1999 and was handed to the Jiamusi police in Beijing. On the way back, Chen Ying was forced to jump off the train and died. Chen Ying's unfortunate death was made public over the Internet, and because of this the police officers who were responsible for the incident held a grudge against Chen Xiuling. On May 25, 2001, Chen Xiuling was forcibly sent to a forced labor camp. After her release, Chen Xiuling had been living a lonely life, all by herself. In March 2003, the police broke into her home to again arrest her. Chen demanded an explanation. Police officer Chen Wanyou from the "610 Office" said, "You have published the death case of your daughter on the Internet, and how can we take it. That's the exact reason why we are sending you to the forced labor camp." Ms. Chen said, "I don't know who published it," to which Chen Wanyou replied, "We don't care." On April 2, 2003, Ms. Chen Xiuling was again sent to the forced labor camp.

Mr. Yu Jiangxing was arrested when going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000 and was subsequently sentenced to two years of forced labor "reeducation." Yu was held in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. When his term was up, Yu refused to give up practicing Falun Gong and the labor camp authorities continued to unlawfully hold him in custody for five more months. They recently threw him into a brainwashing class within the labor camp.

Mr. Zhang Guoyi went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong at the end of 2000 and was sentenced to two years of forced labor "re-education". Zhang suffered from severe torture in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp for adhering to his belief. When his term was up, on February 17, the Laodafang township government in Liaozhong County directly sent him to the brainwashing class within the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Chengping, over 50 years old, became mentally impaired on February 22 because of the persecution meted out to him by the brainwashing class authorities in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Peng Yan is the younger sister of Falun Dafa practitioner Peng Min, who died from police brutality. She was held in the Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan City for longer than the sentence she had been given. At the beginning of 2003, she was transferred to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center for more persecution. Her current situation is not clearly known.

Ms. Xu Xianghua, over 30, was first sentenced to one year of forced labor "re-education" in 2002. The labor camp refused to accept her as she failed the physical examination. In March 2003, the police forcibly took her away from her workplace. On April 2, 2003, she was unlawfully sentenced to three more years of "re-education" through forced labor.

Mr. Li Yonghong was a graduate student in the Automation Control Department of Xi'an Jiaotong University. He was scheduled to graduate in May 2000. As he adhered to his belief in Falun Dafa, the university authorities sent him back to his hometown without issuing his diploma. In October 2000, Li went to Beijing to validate Dafa and was unlawfully sentenced to 1 ?years of forced labor and held in the Mianyang Forced Labor Camp in Sichuan Province. His term was extended for forty days as he refused to cooperate with the wicked people. On November 8, 2002, Li was again arrested, this time for distributing materials that present the facts about Falun Gong. Mr. Li has been unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Ms. Ma Li, over 20 years old, is an accounting clerk. On March 28, 2003, members of the Xigang District "610 Office" and officers from the Minyun Street Police Station followed and abducted her. Her home was then ransacked, and her personal computer, books and other valuables were confiscated. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

In September 2002, the Jiang Zemin regime financed new brainwashing classes in the Qingshan District in Wuhan. Attendees were treated as prisoners. Each session lasted for a month. Brainwashing center staff persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners by spreading lies, forcing them to watch videos that defamed Falun Dafa, verbally threatening them, and by physically punishing or torturing them. Practitioners who refused to cooperate were deprived of sleep around the clock and were followed even when they went to the restroom. The staff members were provided with free room and board besides the 600 Yuan stipend every month each of them received. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] The people are being persecuted by the very money that has been taken away from them.

Recently, under the coordination of Jin Guangzhen, deputy director of Yanbian Prefecture Police Department and director of Yanji City Police Department, the Yanji City police have wantonly arrested Falun Gong practitioners. Jin Guangzhen has received numerous rewards from higher authorities for his arrest of a large number of Falun Gong practitioners. He promised to his higher-ups that he was going to round up all Falun Dafa practitioners in the area.

Xiao Bin, however, pretended to be polite toward Falun Dafa practitioners, and some family members of Falun Dafa practitioners went to him for help. He then demanded cash and valuables. During the "two conferences" in March, the Yanbian police arrested over 170 Falun Dafa practitioners, and many others were under 24-hour surveillance.

The police in Qingdao area have ordered local Internet cafes to purchase and install monitoring software worth over 2000 Yuan. The software was installed on a separate machine or a server monitoring web addresses accessed by users. Alerts are sent directly to machines on the police network.

On the morning of January 14, 2003, Ms. Kong Fanrong was unlawfully arrested by Huang Huichen, Shi Yongliang and a dozen or so other police officers from the Jincheng Division of Changchun City Police Department and Anqing Road Police Station. At 10 o'clock that night, Ms. Kong was forcibly sent to the Tiexi Detention Center, where she was held in custody from January 15 through January 20. A group of police officers in the detention center dragged her out of her cell and viciously beat her, and as a result she was no longer able to walk normally. On January 21, Ms. Kong was transferred to the Shulan Detention Center. When she filed complaints to government officials about the beatings she had received, those officials did nothing other than scoff at her. It is quite clear that the police brutality against Falun Gong practitioners has run completely unchecked under the rule of the Jiang regime.
