Hungary: Explaining the Facts to Tourists and Chinese People in Budapest (photos)

April 30, 2003

On the last day of the Easter holidays, Dafa practitioners from several European countries talked to tourists about Falun Gong and the Jiang regime's persecution in Hungary's most famous scenic spot, Margaret Island in Budapest.

Margaret Island is a beautiful park on the river Danube. Many Hungarians and tourists go there on holiday. Practitioners hung banners above the grass near the entrance of the park. Accompanied by peaceful Dafa music, some practitioners practised the exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts, whilst others distributed leaflets and talked to the tourists. The peaceful music and graceful exercises attracted the attention of many people who stopped to watch.

Many Chinese people live and work in Budapest and practitioners often talk with them. The Chinese people come to watch the exercise practice and are very interested after they realise that it's a Falun Gong practice. They ask many questions and happily receive many materials to read when they get home. One day, as practitioners distributed leaflets in the city centre, they met a lady from Zhejiang province in China. She was upset as she told the practitioners that she knows Falun Dafa is good because her mother used to practise and this gave her very good health. However, after the Jiang regime began persecuting Falun Gong, the authorities would not allow the old woman to practise. Her health got worse and worse and she soon passed away. If it weren't for Jiang's persecution, maybe her mother would still be alive and healthy today. This lady then told practitioners that she wanted to learn the Falun Gong exercises.
