Quick dispatch: On May 8, 2003 (the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, and Master's fifty-second birthday), Falun Dafa practitioners in Sichuan City broke into several groups and held Falun Dafa Conferences in several areas of the city.

Practitioners held group study, practiced group exercises, and sent forth righteous thoughts. Falun Dafa practitioners shared their respective experiences and lessons in this Fa-rectification era. They also expressed that they will make full use of the final Fa-rectification opportunities to carry out the three things Master has taught--clarifying the facts, sending forth righteous thoughts, and studying the Fa well--and fulfill our predestined commitments. That night, another group of practitioners successfully broadcast Master's recent articles to a local detention center.

Mr. Zhang Guangbao, a carpenter, has attended Master's lectures five times. He was sent to the Shandong Province No. 2 Forced Labor Camp in August of 2000. Because of his firm belief in Falun Dafa the police subjected him to electric shocks, deprived him of sleep, poured ice water into his clothes in the winter, exposed him to the blazing sun in summer, as well as beat and kicked him. In July 2002 he received an unreasonable extension to his term of six more months of forced labor reeducation, making his sentence a total of three and one-half years.

Ms. Bai Suzhen is over 60 years old. On March 27, 2003, officers from the local police station arrested her for clarifying the facts. She was held in the No. 1 Detention Center for a month until being transferred to the Luotai Xiaozhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province, for further persecution. Details about her recent situation are not clear.

Since the "Two Conferences" [the National People's Congress and the National People's Political Consultative Conference] held last March, members of the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] and the political security sections within police departments across the cities and counties of Yanbian, Jilin Province, have gone all-out to escalate the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. They have monitored telephone conversations, followed and arrested practitioners, and ransacked homes. The police and members of the "610 Office" also posted materials that defame Falun Dafa and its founder in order to trap practitioners who show up to remove the posters. Falun Dafa practitioners Sun Lihong (female) and Han Xihuan from Longjing City were captured this way, and their homes were ransacked. Their Falun Dafa materials were all confiscated as well. They are being tortured in the detention center. Ms. Sun's father, who is almost 80 years old, is paralyzed and bed-ridden. Since his daughter's arrest, there is now no one to take care of him.

Police officers from the Ziyou Dalu Police Station in Chaoyang District, Changchun City, staked-out the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wei and spotted another practitioner, Ms. Wang Yingchun. After 4:00 p.m. on March 1st, Wang's husband heard knocks on the door and saw four police officers through the peephole, who ordered him to open the door. He figured that the officers were after his wife, so he argued with them and refused to open the door. Meanwhile Wang slid down a rope from the seventh floor, but the officers caught sight of her and arrested her. They also unlawfully searched her home and took away tape recorders and Falun Dafa tape cassettes. Wang's husband was also detained for about 12 days on charges of "interfering with official duties." Their child was unlawfully held in custody for two days. Officers screamed at the child, demanding the telephone numbers of the principal and the teacher in charge of the class. Ms. Wang Yingchun has been sentenced to one year of forced labor and is being held in the No. 1 Brigade in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp. Practitioner Wei, who is over 60 years old, has also been abducted, and her whereabouts is unknown.

At the end of February, just as she was returning home, 28-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Haiyan was abducted by several police officers from the Guilin Road Police Station, who had been keeping her home under surveillance. The police then ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and materials. Ms. Zhu Haiyan was sentenced to two years of forced labor and is being held in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

Prior to the "Two Conferences" this year, a police station in a northeastern county of China unlawfully arrested Falun Dafa practitioners. We exposed the persecution right away by publishing the telephone numbers of the police officers responsible. An overseas Falun Dafa practitioner called the police station, and with a compassionate and sincere voice asked, "Is there anything wrong with Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance? Why would you persecute people who have faith in Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance?" The policeman replied repeatedly, "I'm not opposed to this. I'm not opposed to this." Later, when a Falun Dafa practitioner went back to the police station asking them to return the Falun Dafa books, the officers tried to shrug off their previous behavior, and no one defamed Falun Dafa anymore.

Political Commissar Zhang Zhenyang, Police Officer Li (team leader), Team Leader Shi, Team Leader Ma, and Team Leader Sun directed inmates He Hailong, Sun Yugang, You Longquan, Xu Haiyu, Li Deshun, Wang Qiang, Li Hui, Ma Chunming, and others to beat and torture Falun Dafa practitioners. They also deprived practitioners of sleep. Zhang Yongli, section chief of the education section, made use of inmates to force-feed Falun Dafa practitioners who held hunger strikes to protest their illegal detainment.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zheng Lanrui was unlawfully arrested and tortured to the verge of death. Song Jianmin (Mr. Zheng Lanrui's wife) was sentenced to 10 years in prison in September of 2002. Ms. Zheng Lanxia (Mr.Zheng Lanrui's younger sister) was arrested at the same time as Mr. Zheng and his wife. She was unlawfully sentenced to 5 years in prison. A school-aged child and the elderly remain at home unattended.

Falun Dafa practitioners Wei Zhanjun and Zhao Jinmin have both been arrested, and each sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Ruihe and Xing Guochang, former chief of the Falun Dafa assistance center in Zhengding County, were arrested by the county "610 Office" and police department. Both have been unlawfully sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Currently, Song Jianmin and other Falun Dafa practitioners are being held in the Zhengding County Detention Center.

Certain people directly responsible for the persecution of Falun Dafa have received retribution:

Zhang Dongbin, promoted to a dedicated position in charge of persecuting Falun Gong, is hospitalized and bed-ridden. He has to receive a daily infusion of medicine.

Cai Shengli, former Deputy Section Chief of the Political Security Section in charge of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, has been involved in car accidents and suffers from illness.

Police officers Sun Sanping, Zhao Yuzhen, Wang Jianguo, Sun Jinghua, and Zhi Qiuying at the No. 2 Brigade of the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province have put on a benign facade. However, they have deprived Falun Dafa practitioners of sleep, and ordered "collaborators" [Former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture.] to brainwash practitioners. Qiao Xiaoxia, head of the No. 4 Regiment in the No. 2 Brigade, is primarily responsible for the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioner Li Huiqi.
