During the early morning of July 20, 2003,on a busy street in a city in Henan Province, two banners displaying yellow characters on red backgrounds, were hung from high locations and could be seen flapping in the wind. The banners shocked and suppressed the evil.

The laws in most countries will protect the prosecutor and witness. But to Dafa practitioners, the opposite happens. Ms. Wang Jie was illegally sentenced to 7 years in jail because she revealed evidence of the Chinese government's persecution of her for practicing Falun Gong. She is now detained at the Dabei Jail and is going on a hunger strike to protest.
3. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Wu Wenfeng and His Sister Wu Wenjin Are Persecuted
On the morning of July 22, 2003, Ms. Wu Wenjin and Mr. Wu Wenfeng were arrested at the Jiamusi Railway Station by police officers from the Jiamusi Railway Police Station. One hundred copies of Dafa truth clarifying video CDs, some Dafa books, and over 1000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] were confiscated by the police. Police did not issue receipts for the items they took. Before this arrest, the two had just been released after being detained for a month, and both were physically weak. Police officers tortured and interrogated Wu Wenfeng, who is blind, and his sister Wu Wenjin. The brother and sister refused to cooperate with the police officers. Finally, police had to send Wu Wenfeng home because he was so weak from previously being tortured. Wu Wenjin is still detained.

5. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Former Xinhua News Agency Reporter (Jilin Branch) Feng Liping Is Sent to a Brainwashing Center after Being Released from a Forced Labor Camp
Recently, Dafa practitioner Mr. Feng Liping was sent to a brainwashing center for further persecution by the "610 Office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches]. Feng had just been released from a forced labor camp. His former employer fired him because of his firm belief in Falun Gong.
6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] "610" Officers Illegally Send Dafa Practitioners to a Brainwashing Center
In late June 2003, the Longquan District "610 office" lured or forcibly abducted Dafa practitioners Ms. Shi Lanfang, Mr. Huang Yan, Mr. Yan Bing, Ms. Zhang Cifang, Ms. Li Shirong, and Ms. Lan Guan to a brainwashing center. They have not yet been released.
The Longquan "610 office" had tried to organize brainwashing sessions before, but their plans failed when Dafa practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts. This time, they chose a few practitioners they thought of as "important targets" and set up the brainwashing session at a secret place. Family members were not allowed to visit. Local Dafa practitioners organized a one-time group sending forth righteous thoughts activity, after which the situation became more favorable. The "610 office" is not that rampant anymore, and Dafa practitioners are allowed visits from their relatives. Our experience is that we should follow Teacher's Fa and put emphasis on sending forth righteous thoughts. The group righteous thoughts are very powerful.
7. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Wang Yushan from the Bajiazi Township, Jianchang County Is Detained
Ms. Wang Yushan was reported to the police while she was revealing details about the persecution of Dafa to people. She was arrested and is now detained at the Jianchang County Detention Center. Cao Yue, who was arrested with Wang, has been released. Wang will most likely be sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Li Shuxiang Is Detained at the City's First detention Center
About one month ago, the City Security Bureau and Li Shuxiang's employer guaranteed Ms. Li's family that she would not be arrested. However, Li was tricked into going to her work unit where she was arrested and sent to a Detention Center.
9. [Qinzhou City, Guangxi Province] A Brief of the Persecution of the Four Chen Sisters
Ms. Chen Guiying was detained at the Qinzhou City's First Detention Center for one month when she went to appeal to the government in February 2000. In July 2000, for no reason, she was detained for another month at the Qinzhou City Second Detention Center.
Ms. Chen Guifang was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp after she went to appeal to the government in May 2000. In 2002, she was again sent to a forced labor camp when she clarified the truth of Dafa to people. She has been arrested nine times since July 20, 1999 and is currently detained at the Guangxi Women's Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Chen Guilian is a teacher at the Fangcheng Port Management Bureau. However, her job was suspended in 1999. She was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp after she went to appeal to the government. In 2002, she was sent to a forced labor camp again for clarifying the truth about the persecution to people. She is now detained at the Guangxi Women's Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Chen Guiqiong was detained twice after she went to appeal for Falun Gong. Her home was searched, and a color TV was taken by police officers. Even the food and drinks in her refrigerator were taken by the police officers from the Shuidong Police Station. Her family members, including an 80-year-old and a 9-year-old, were threatened and tortured by the police officers. Her 15-year-old son was beaten by police officers until his ears were bleeding and inflamed.
10. [Baoding, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioners in Buping County Are Arrested and Their Homes Are Ransacked
On the evening of July 3, 2003, led by the Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau, the Buping County "610 Office" police stations, and township governments searched all of the Falun Gong practitioner's homes in the county. If any Falun Gong related items were found, the practitioners were arrested. That evening eight practitioners were arrested, including a 70-year-old senior and some 12-year-old children. The township police interrogated three others even though nothing related to Falun Gong was found in their homes. The three were released late at night.
The eight practitioners are Mr. Dong Yuefu, Ms. Xu Jinhua and their 12-year old daughter (who has since been released) from Shihu Village, Buping Township, Ms. Jiao Feng (released the second day because her 80-year-old family member was left alone), Ms. Zhao Fuxiang, Ms. Jia Aiping (from Yulingou village; her family was extorted 7000 Yuan, and another 700 to 800 Yuan was spent on dinners for the police officers), Ms. Du Kaifang from Zhaojaigou Village (detained for two days and fined 500 Yuan after a flyer about Falun Gong was found in her home), Mr. Wang Donhai from the Changjiao Village, Pingyang Township ( Released already. He was fined 8000 Yuan. He was also fined 5000 Yuan in 2001 when arrested illegally).

Ms. Zhang Lixin was reported to police while clarifying the truth of Dafa to her colleagues. Her home was searched and she is currently being detained at the Acheng City Detention Center.
12. [Jilin city, Jilin Province] Jail Police Do not Allow Dafa Practitioner Wang Juncheng's Family to Visit Him
Mr. Wang Juncheng was detained at the Jilin City Jail. When his family visited him, he asked the visitor to persuade his sister, who is not diligent in Dafa practice, to not waste this precious chance and to keep on practicing Dafa. But the when jail police heard him talking, his family member was sent away. Later his family was not allowed to visit and he was detained in a mini-cell to intensify the persecution.
13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Police Harassment at Dafa Practitioner Zhang Ming's Home
Recently police officers from the Changchun City Public Security Bureau went to Mr. Zhang Ming's home and forced his family to reveal Zhang Ming's phone number and address. Zhang's family member sternly refused.
14. [Beian Jail, Heilongjiang Province] Not Allowed to Wear A Padded Jacket in winter; but Forced to Wear It During the Hot Summer
Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhaohua, 52, is from the Yutie Railway Branch, Inner Mongolia. Because he did not give up his practice of Falun Gong, he was sentenced to seven years in jail, and is now detained at the First Group, Fourth Brigade in the Beian Jail. He suffers a lot from the severity of the persecution. During the cold weather, police do not allow him to wear his cotton-padded jacket. However, he was forced to wear it during the hot summer. He is also shut up in a closed cell and receives other inhuman treatment.

15. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Dafa Practitioners Mu Kunli and Mu Chunhua Are Arrested
In July 2003, Ms. Mu Kunli and Ms. Mu Chunhua's homes were illegally searched and the two were arrested. They are currently detained at the Xuchang City Detention Center.
16. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Local Dafa Practitioners Have Started Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts Together to Eliminate the Evil Factors
Recently, many Dafa practitioner's homes were searched, and the practitioners were arrested. Several of them were sent to the Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp but were not kept there because they did not pass the physical check-up. This caused a big loss to the Dafa truth clarification work in Xuchang City. To eliminate the evil factors in the Xuchang area, local Dafa practitioners have started sending forth righteous thoughts together three times each night.
