(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Lou Yan from Anshan City, Liaoning Province was illegally detained in the Handicapped & Senior's Unit of Liaoning Province Women's Prison (formerly Dabei Prison). She went on a hunger strike to protest her persecution and died as a result of the persecution. The date of her death is estimated to be in the first half of 2004. She left behind a 13-year-old child.
Ms. Lou Yan lived in Tiexi District of Anshan City. She had been arrested and her home searched many times. During her illegal detention, she had been force-fed with drugs that affected her nervous system. Under the effect of the drugs, she jumped out of a building and broke her spine, paralyzing her lower body. According to her husband, Fu Yongchen, she had medical examinations in Shenyang City in 2001. The results of these exams showed that her spine was broken in two places, causing permanent lower body damage.
On February 2, 2002, Ms. Lou was again abducted by members of Songsantai Police Station and sent to Anshan City Detention Center. During this illegal detention, Ms. Lou went on hunger strike in protest. The police then put handcuffs and shackles on her, and ordered criminal inmates to brutally beat her. After a week of such torture, she was sent to a forced labor camp. At that time, Ms. Lou was already in a coma, and the labor camp refused to accept her in that condition. So policeman Li Xingzhong went to the Mo. 2 Hospital in Tiexi District to get a statement of "no health problems" and forcibly sent Ms. Lou to Anshan City Forced Labor Camp. But Ms. Lou's health condition deteriorated daily. For two weeks, she had no food or water, and vomited blood constantly. She was in life-threatening danger, and her husband requested the labor camp release her.
Instead, Ms. Lou was sentenced to 5 years in jail and sent to Liaoning Women's Prison in Shenyang City. In prison, once again she was in life-threatening condition due to persecution, and was released on medical parole. Later, two policemen from Songsantai Police Station went to Ms. Lou's home and asked her to come for a talk at the police station. On her way home from that interview, she was abducted and sent back to the women's prison in Shenyang City.
Ms. Lou was then detained in the Handicapped & Senior's Unit of the prison. She went on a hunger strike to protest her persecution, and then died as a result of the persecution. The date of her death is not clear at this point, but is estimated to be during the first half of 2004. After the cause of her death was exposed, the police guards denied responsibility and stated that it was all the fault of the criminal inmates.
