Meng Liqiang is a Falun Dafa practitioner from the Yaodu District of Linfen City, Shanxi Province. After being arrested on July 10 for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials, Meng has been held at Linfen City Detention Center. Recently the Forced Labor Education Commission in Linfen City unlawfully sentenced Meng to three years of forced labor.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ding Shun Arrested by "610 Office" at Work
Ding Shun is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. On September 20, 2004, Ding was abducted at work for no reason by officials from the Jianghan District "610 Office" and taken to Jianghan District Brainwashing Unit.
3. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Lawless Officials Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners Prior to October 1st
Fearing that Falun Dafa practitioners might go to Beijing to file appeals during the October 1st National Day holiday season, the Wuchang City government, "610 Office" and police arrested Falun Dafa practitioners based on a blacklist on the evening of September 17. Even those who only practice in their homes and those who had stopped practicing were arrested. At 7:30 p.m. on September 17, 2004, head of the Niujia Police Station led officers to the construction site in the Pingfang District of Harbin City and forcibly arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Qu Chuanlu, a villager of Ertun Village in Niujia Town. Without following any legal procedures, Qu was taken to the Wuchang City Police Department and tortured. Qu's whereabouts are now unknown.
4. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Tan Yapeng Arrested
On the afternoon of September 10, 2004, the head of the Wenlou Town Police Station in Huazhou City, Guangdong Province led five people to Tan Yapeng's home. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials and abducted Tan to a brainwashing unit for torture.
5. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Elementary School Teacher Ms. Meng Lidong Arrested for Raising Public Awareness about Falun Gong in Class
On September 5, Ms. Meng Lidong, a teacher at Xinmin Elementary School in Youyi Township, Fuyu County, told her students the facts about Falun Dafa in her classroom. Informants turned her in to the authorities. Ms. Meng is being held at the detention center of the Fuyu County Police Department. Upon learning about this case, Guo Shuren, Party Secretary of the county, instructed the county education commission director Sun Xiang to order all teachers in elementary and middle schools across the county to write articles attacking Falun Dafa.

Mr. Zhou Zixian is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. In March 2004 he was arrested by the Hengyang City "610 Office" for exposing the persecution against Falun Gong by Jiang and his cohorts. Mr. Zhou has been held at Hengyang County Detention Center. He has remained firm in his belief despite inhumane torture received in the detention center. In July he was transferred to Wuling Prison in Changde. His wife has been forced to divorce him due to stress and hardship.

7. [Beijing] Police from Wenquan Police Station in Haidian District Arrest a Falun Dafa Practitioner
On the morning of September 23, 2004, a Falun Dafa practitioner (about fifty years old) was arrested by police from the Wenquan Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing.
8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Fengjun Arrested and Taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Li Fengjun is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. In early May 2004 she was arrested together with Falun Dafa practitioner Shao Minggang from Shandong Province. On May 16 she was unlawfully taken to Jinzhou City's No. 1 Detention Center. On August 26 she was transferred to Group 1 in Unit 2 of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang.
Ms. Li Fengjun, 37, was an employee at the library and information office of the No. 6 Refinery Factory of China Petroleum and Chemical Company. At the end of August 2002 she was abducted from work to a brainwashing unit by the local police. After she managed to escape with righteous thoughts, a warrant was issued for her arrest. Her company threatened to dismiss her in order to coerce her to turn herself in to the police, which did not work. She was subsequently dismissed and was forced to stay out of town and become destitute. Her 8-year-old daughter and elderly father have supported each other and have a hard time making a living.
