1. [Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Guo Zhaoyong and Wang Chaowei Stage a Hunger Strike; Their Lives are in Peril
Mr. Guo Zhaoyong, a practitioner from Shen County, Shandong Province, was arrested in Linqing City on September 30, 2004, and is currently being held in the Liaocheng Brainwashing Center. He has been on a hunger strike for 36 days and is in critical condition.
Practitioner Wang Chaowei from Yanggu County, Shandong Province, was arrested in Fan County, the Puyang Area, Henan Province. He is currently being secretly held somewhere in Puyang and has been on a hunger strike for 33 days. He is in critical condition.
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Wang Yan and Li Yueran Are Sentenced
According to reliable sources, Wang Yan and Li Yueran, a Falun Gong practitioner couple from Baoding City, were sentenced to ten years and five years in prison, respectively. They refused to accept such a verdict. Wang Yan tore up the court document right on the spot.
The couple was taken to the court on a stretcher. There was neither a file for the court opening, nor were visitors allowed for the court hearing. The court personnel did not even notify their family members.
On October 14, police deceived them, saying they wanted to "check their health." Instead, the police took them to Hebei Province's No. 4 and No. 2 Prison, respectively. As of November 5th, Wang Yan has been on a hunger strike for 200 days; Li Yueran had started to eat on the fifth day. In the middle of June, Wang Yan managed to escape, but got caught at Longyao County's Bus Station and was taken back.

3. [Jidong City, Heilongjiang Province] Qu Dehong Arrested at Home
On October 26, 2004, Mr. Qu Dehong from Jidong City was once again arrested; this time at home and his home was ransacked. It was reported that about 40 practitioners were arrested, among them some practitioners from Jixi City.
Qu Dehong had organized the 1999 Beijing press conference in which practitioners risked their lives to tell journalists about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was sentenced to three years and six months and was held in Harbin City's Prison. Qu Dehong was released the end of April 2003.
4. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Atrocities in Ningyuan Town's Middle School
Mr. Zhang Qizhuang and Ms. Fu Yanxia from Ningyuan Town, Bin County, Heilongjiang Province, are Ningyuan Town's Middle School teachers. They voluntarily did daily cleaning when they arrived at the school, while clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to others. At 9:00 a.m. on November 1, 2004, while they were at work, personnel from Bin County's "610 Office" and from the National Security Section of the Police Department arrived suddenly and beat them.
These officers took two taxis and rushed to the Ningyuan Town Middle School. They went to Zhang Qizhuang first, [ordering him to accompany them]. Zhang Qizhuang refused to get into the taxi. The police gang then beat him brutally. Policemen in front pulled his hair and pushed his head down. Those in the back kicked him and stomped on him, all trying to shove him into the taxi. Zhang Qizhuang kept saying loudly the whole time, "Falun Dafa is Great." Practitioner Ms. Fu Yanxia was holding onto the door of the taxi refusing to get in. While they manhandled her, trying to pull her into the taxi, some of Fu Yanxia's clothes were pulled off. The policemen closed the door by without caring that Fu Yanxia's hands were holding onto the door. Fu Yanxia's hands were smashed and started bleeding. All the teachers and students were eye-witnesses to this atrocity in Ningyuan Town's Middle School square.
Right after this happened, the personnel from the "610 Office" and from the National Security Section drove to Ningyuan Town's Elementary School where they arrested practitioners Ms. Tang Huaxiang and Ms. Li Leixin.
Zhang Qizhuang has been held in Bin County's Prison, also called First Detention Center of Bin County. The three other women practitioners were sent to a brainwashing center in Wuchang City of Heilongjiang Province.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Li Wenfeng Arrested Again
On October 29, under the command of Chengdu City's "610 Office," three plain-clothes policemen and officers in charge of household registrations from Caojiaxiang Police Station in the Jinniu District, Chengdu City, went the 12th Provincial Construction Company residential area located on Ma'an Road North. They broke into practitioner Li Wenfeng 's home and sent her to Chengdu City's Detention Center.
Li Wenfeng was arrested in August by personnel from Simaqiao Police Station and Caojiaxiang Police Station for clarifying the truth on Hengde Road and was sent to Chengdu City's Detention Center. Li Wenfeng left the detention center 15 days later with the power of righteous thoughts.

6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Huang Min Is Followed and Interrogated
Practitioner Huang Min was born in 1954 and was director of Chengdu City's Administration Bureau for Township and Town-Owned Enterprises and is concurrent Secretary of the Party Committee in the bureau. He is the first bureau level official practitioner in Sichuan Province to go to Tiananmen Square to publicly validate the Fa, in July 2000. His actions frightened Zhou Yongkang, one of the evildoing regime heads, and he was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.
Huang Min's term had expired in 2003. He was sent to a dormitory in Luojiazhan. Three jobless persons were hired to keep him under constant surveillance and follow him, and to interrogate Huang Min 24 hours a day. He is still under house arrest.
7. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners From Junan County Arrested for Making Truth-Clarifying Materials
On October 3, police arrested Gong Maoxiu and Ge Qiaoli, along with a practitioner who is a chauffeur from Junan County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, while they were making truth-clarifying materials in Zhubian Town, Junan County. Practitioner Ge Qiaoli is now being held at Junan County's Detention Center; Gong Maoxiu is held at Linshu County's Detention Center. The circumstances of the chauffeur practitioner is not known.
8. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Teng Derong Suffers from Torture in Jinan City's Women's Prison
Ms. Teng Derong, practitioner from Mengyin County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, was arrested in 2002 by local personnel and was then sentenced to over ten years. Ms. Teng is now incarcerated in Jinan City's Women's Prison.
Teng Derong was forced to work until 10 or 11 o'clock every night, sometimes even past 1:00 a.m. She is often put into solitary confinement for merely insisting to practice the Falun Gong exercises. The prison guards violated the applicable laws and regulations by not permitting the visiting family members to eat with practitioners.
Two more practitioners from Linyi City, Ms. Deng Liangcun and Ms. Duan Jiazhi, were arrested in June 2004. Deng was sentenced to two years of imprisonment, and Duan Jiazhi was sentenced to forced labor.
9. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Lu Xia and Six Other Practitioners Arrested and Tortured for Clarifying the Truth
In the spring of 2004, Ms.Lu Xia and six other practitioners were arrested when clarifying the truth in Xintai City. They are now being held in Xintai City's Detention Center. According to eye-witnesses, during the court proceedings, three of the seven practitioners, Lu Xia among them, were held up by others and supported; four of them were carried to the court on stretchers. They didn't even have the strength to raise their heads. A 25-year-old woman practitioner was tortured so badly that she now weighs only 80 lbs.
10. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Five Practitioners, Including Yang Lifen
On October 23, 2004 in Panjiahu Village, Fenghuangling Town, the Hedong District, Linyi City, arrests took place. Personnel from Fenghuangling Town's Police Station in Hedong District arrested five practitioners who were distributing truth-clarifying materials. They are currently being held in Linyi City's Prison, suffering inhuman tortures.
The five practitioners are Ms. Yang Lifeng from Linyi City (about 40 years old), Chu Yanqi (39 years old) and Ms. Song Youfan from the Hedong District, Sun Qinghong from Dadianzi Village, Fenghuangling Town and Liu Nailun from Mengyin County. (Song Youfang's family bailed her out after they paid deposit in the afternoon of November 2, 2004.)
Yang Lifen firmly resisted the unlawful persecution and went on a hunger strike. When the police interrogated her with torture, attempting to get her to reveal her address, she told them that her hometown is in Northeastern China, that her only family member is her child, and that her husband divorced her because of the persecution, so she has no home. After hearing the answer, a policeman called "Big Brother Wang" beat her face and head with a belt and boasted that he would continue to torture her.

11. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Zhang Yonglu Arrested for Exposing the Persecution
On the morning of November 1, 2004, police from Linqu County ganged up with personnel from Wolong Town's Police Station and arrested practitioner Zhang Yonglu (teacher) from Wolong Town's No. 3 Professional High School. They ransacked Zhang Yonglu's home and confiscated many truth-clarifying materials and documents that exposed the evil deeds of local policemen. They stated that they came to arrest him because they found Zhang Yonglu exposing specific information and posting it online. Zhang Yonglu's family members didn't cooperate and clarified the truth to them, but the policemen didn't listen and insisted to take Zhang Yonglu away with them. Moreover, they demanded for 200 Yuan cash and told Zhang Yonglu to take a blanket and go with them. Zhang's family refused to give them the money. Police therefore went to the school to ask for money. They took Zhang Yonglu away.
Recently, three practitioners from Linqu County were consecutively arrested.
12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Zhang Yonglu and Sun Shuzhen Arrested
On October 21, 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Liu Xiangge from Changchun City (lives near the Locomotive Factory) was arrested at home by the personnel from the Kaixuan Road Police Station. Sun Shuzhen was arrested by personnel from the Xingye Street Police Station when distributing truth-clarifying materials on the afternoon of October 28, 2004.

13. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] The Persecution Account of Song Qingxian's Family
In the middle of October 2004, with a unified arrangement by Laizhou City's Education Committee, the Guojiadian Middle School's authorities forced all the teachers and students to sign the so-called "Guarantee Statement," promising not to practice Falun Gong. The school's principal suspended Mr. Song Qingxian, a teacher in charge of a class and also the physical education teacher. Principal Song Guoyu relieved the teacher of his duty merely because he refused to sign such an agreement. His salary is suspended as well. Song Qingxian did not acknowledge the senseless persecution, and kept going to the class. Principal Song Guoyu then had someone move Song Qingxian's desk away and drove him back home and threatened that he would not let Song into the gate if he came back again.
On November 2, Song Qingxian and his wife Ye Guofeng (also a practitioner) went to clarify the truth to Principal Song Guoyu, and asked him to provide a written document, stating why he was suspended from his duties. Song Guoyu dared not to write the statement and walked away, making excuses.
After Song Qingxian and Ye Guofeng went back home, five policemen from Laizhou City broke in and attempted to arrest Ye Guofeng, but she managed to walk away with the power of righteous thoughts. They ransacked the home and arrested Song Qingxian and his son and put them into Laizhou City's Detention Center. Ye Guofeng is now living in exile. A happily family was thus torn apart.

14. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Authorities from the Jinxi City's Oil Refinery and Chemical General Factory Persecute Employees Who Practice Falun Dafa
Since ringleader Jiang and his regime started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, the authorities at Jinxi City's Oil Refinery and Chemical General Factory in Huludao City, Liaoning Province have actively participated in the persecution. They expelled numerous practitioners from the factory or laid them off. Li Hongliang was even sent to a psychiatric hospital for torture. Ms.Yang Shuzhen was arrested according to orders from Sun Jingyi, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the General Factory, for clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa and asking for the return their unlawfully embezzled salaries.
Lately, they arrested four practitioners: Ji Yongjin, Fan Shuxiang, Zhou Bingfan and another practitioner and put them into a brainwashing class, which was led and supervised by Sun Jimin from the Comprehensive Administration Section, the Public Security Division.

15. [Shanghai ] Wang Huifang Followed and Arrested for Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong
Recently, when Ms. Wang Huifang from Shanghai was distributing truth-clarifying materials to people face to face she encountered a secret agent. This man accepted the flyers then followed Wang Huifang to her home. Later he called police and personnel from "610 Office" to arrest Wang Huifang. Wang Huifan is presumably detained at Yangpu Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Xiangfeng from Shanghai was arrested and incarcerated at Minxing District's Detention Center for distributing truth-clarifying materials.
16. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mei Jimin Is Arrested for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong at Her Workplace
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Mei Jimin is an employee of Xinye County's Xinfang Group in Nanyang City, Henan Province. On October 18, 2004, when she was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong, Ma Jianfeng, head of the company's security section, reported her. Then she was arrested by Li Bin and three other officers from Xinye County's Police Precinct.
Mei Jimin is currently being held at Xinye County's Detention Center where she underwent much physical and psychological trauma. She protests the persecution with righteous thoughts.
17. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Fang Quanlu Captured and Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Mr. Fang Quanlu is a senior engineer from the Donghua Engineering and Technology Company Limited in Hefei City, Anhui Province (formerly the No.3 Chemical Institute). He was again captured from home and taken to a brainwashing center at the end of October 2004.
In 2002, officials from the "610 Office" together with personnel from his company removed him from his home by force. Mr. Fang was then detained at a brainwashing center. Because he continued to clarify the truth to personnel and never gave up and persevered in his belief in Falun Dafa, even after he had been tortured for five months, personnel from the brainwashing center had no choice but to release him.
18. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Li Qiang and Fang Jinzhi Arrested for Carrying Truth-Clarifying Materials
On October 2, 2004, Li Qiang and Fang Jinzhi, from Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province went to Beijing. They were subjected to illegal body search and were found to have truth-clarifying materials with them, so they were arrested. Local "610 Office" personnel took them back to Zaozhuang City and sent them to a detention center. During the detention, lawless policemen broke into Li Qiang's parents' home and attempted to force them to sign the notice of the Li Qiang couple being detained, but the parents firmly refused.
On October 15, Li Qiang was sentenced to three years of forced labor and was sent to the Zhoucun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City. At the same time, the local government from Taozhuang Village was forced to pay 6,000 yuan to send Fang Jinzhi to the brainwashing center in Jinan City. The notice of Li Qiang's forced labor sentence was mailed to Li Qiang's parents.
19. [Shandong Province] Arrest of Luan Hong and Zhang Zhongyi
Ms. Luan Hong, 29 years old, is a music teacher at the No.34 Secondary School in the Shengbei District, the Shengli Oil Field. At around 9:00 a.m. on November 1, 2004, Zhan Chunye, security section head in the district led Li Qingyun, head of the criminal police section for the Bingbei Police Department Dong Ning and others went directly to the teachers' office. They said they wanted to ask Luan Hong something and then took her away. Her family still does not know her whereabouts.
Mr. Zhang Zhongyi, 50 years old, is the boiler room chief for Station No. 102, , No.3, Dongxing Mine, the Shengli Oil Field. On China's National Day he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong but was arrested. The "610 Office" personnel at the oil field took him back to his hometown and persecuted him.
20. [Shulan City, Jinlin Province] Detention of Mao Yaqin
Ms. Mao Yaqin, an employee for the Liudao Clay Mine in Shuiquliu Town, Shulan City, Jinlin Province, is in her forties. On July 20, 2004, a group of lawless policemen ransacked her house and she had no choice but to flee and go into exile to avoid illegal arrest.
Around October 20, when Mao Yaqin went to Shuiquliu Town to collect her minimum survival payment, she was arrested. Officers from Shuiquliu Town's Police Precinct were the perpetrators. She is currently being held at the Nanshan Detention Center in Shulan City.
