Radio Free Asia: A Woman from Hong Kong Was Taken Away for Distributing Flyers in Guangdong

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 27, 2004, Zhang Lihong, wife of Hong Kong citizen Kuang Senqia was unlawfully taken away by police while distributing truth-clarification materials in China. She is currently detained in a detention center of the Urban Police Division, Shanwei, Guangdong Province.

Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported on November 2 that the Hong Kong Falun Gong Association disclosed that Zhang Lihong, wife of Hong Kong citizen Kuang Senqia was detained by police on October 27 in Shanwei, Guangdong Province for distributing Falun Gong flyers.

The report stated that Mr. Kuang Senqia was seeking help from Hong Kong Legislative Committee members and the Hong Kong Government, hoping for the early release of his wife. On October 27, after accompanying her two children to kindergarten, Ms. Zhang distributed materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in China and introducing the spread of Falun Gong overseas. The police detained her, and later held her at the detention center of the Urban Police Division, Shanwei. Ms. Zhang's children are 3 and 4 years old.

The report further stated, based on news from overseas Falun Gong websites, during the last five years since Jiang's faction's persecution of Falun Gong, at least 1,099 practitioners have been tortured to death, 6,000 were sentenced to prison and 100,000 practitioners have been sent to labor camps.
