Every Person is My Relative: Clarifying the Truth to the Police and Officials in My Neighborhood (Part 3)

March 31, 2004

15. "I Took it home to give to my mother"

Since I frequently clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the police officer in charge of my neighborhood, when the higher officials assigned some "task" to him, he informed me about it. One time some higher officials wanted to arrest practitioners who accessed the Internet. Since I am the key person in this area, the police would directly interfere with me when I accessed the Internet, so this police officer called me to drop a hint.

Another time someone reported to him that a barbershop owner found a copy of Zhuan Falun at his business. The policeman rushed there to handle the matter. Later, I asked how he handled that. He said, "I found the barbershop owner is not a good person. I was afraid he wouldn't treat the book well. So, I 'confiscated' the book, took it home, and gave it to my mother to read.

16. "You trust us so much, we will surely help you"

I was recently released from a labor camp. One day the director of our community hall and the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party came to my home. My first thought upon seeing them was to learn the purpose of their visit. I immediately dismissed my impure thoughts with the righteous thought of "I should save them." Once this thought emerged, I suddenly felt the capacity in my heart expanding. I started explaining the facts about Falun Gong to them. I told them the consequences of sending these good people to forced labor camps and how it will bring disasters to their families and to the Chinese people. They listened to my words and told me firmly, "Since you trust us so much, we will surely help you."

In the days following, they fulfilled their promise. One day the police came to the community hall and asked where I lived. The director of our community hall told the police, "This resident is a very good person. He just came back from the labor camp. Don't trouble him anymore." The police didn't do anything and left.

17. "Please don't connect me with them"

The policeman in charge of our neighborhood often called to see if I was home. I used the opportunity to tell him the truth about Falun Gong. I told him the tortures I suffered while detained in the detention center and forced labor camp. I told him, "Your calls are bringing back painful memories again and again. Now, the last word I want to hear is 'police'." Whenever I heard the word, I felt the terror of the forced labor camp and thought about the killers in there. It reminded me of the ten of thousands who have been suffering in the labor camps. I thought of those good people being persecuted to the point of being mentally ill. He was very surprised to hear that and said at once, "I really didn't know of the situation in the labor camps. Please don't connect me with them. I won't bother you anymore."

18. "How come it is like hell there"

I was recently released from a forced labor camp. I went to the community hall to tell them the truth. The policeman in charge of our neighborhood was also there. I started by telling them how wrong it was for them to send me to the forced labor camp. I then told them how I was tortured there. I was beaten until I lost consciousness and the police poured cold water on me. I stood laying in the cold water the whole night before regaining consciousness. My lower back hurt from the beating so I had to crawl to urinate. I was also forced to stand. During those three months, I hardly slept. They were all astonished upon hearing that. The policeman murmured, "How come it is like hell there?" Since that conversation, they are treating me better.

My parents passed away during the same time. The people in the community hall asked me if I was having any difficulties surviving. I told them I didn't need anything, and then used the opportunity to further clarify the truth. I told them that my parents have many children and we were all arrested for being Falun Gong practitioners. My parents did not have anyone left to take care of them in their old age. My father was over 90 and my mother was blind. Jiang is destroying families with his cruelty. The people in the community hall sympathized with me and said to take good care of myself.

19. Police in the prosecutor's office said, "Write something good about what she said."

When a practitioner was arrested, because I had called this practitioner previously, the police also searched my home and sent me to a detention center.

In the detention center, I continually talked about the facts of Falun Gong. When talking with the policeman who interrogated me, I learned that his father was wrongly labeled as a "rightist" and was persecuted in the 1950's. I hence made an analogy of this persecution to what his father experienced, which deeply moved him.

Later, I told the truth to the policeman in the prosecutor's office and he also learned the truth. He asked the secretary who was recording the talk, "Write something good about what she said and skip the last part of our conversation." He also said to me, "I know you are innocent. You be careful in the future. Keep practicing at home."

Outside the detention center, the policeman in charge of my area as well as the people in the community hall also worked hard to free me. As a result, I was released. The day I left the detention center, I told the police who interrogated me, "You must read some Falun Gong books." He said, "I will. I believe our county will reevaluate Falun Gong".

20. "What on earth has our resident done? When are you going to stop doing this?"

Later, the police arrested me and sent me to the brainwashing center again. While I was there I clarified the truth to the people conducting the session as well as to the collaborators who "enlightened" along an evil path (former practitioners who turned against Dafa due to brainwashing and torture).

The director of my community hall called my husband to console him. She also asked the people organizing the brainwashing session, "What on earth has our resident done? When are you going to stop doing this kind of thing? You are always arresting her and saying she is guilty. Do you have any evidence?" The policeman was not able to say a word. The head of the community hall also told the policeman how righteous and honest I am. They also told them about my poor living conditions and asked them to release me. Then, just like that, I was released.

Dear Fellow Practitioners, let's join our efforts, and allow everyone in the world to have an opportunity to choose his or her future. Everyone has been our relative or has a predestined relationship with us.
