(Clearwisdom.net) The United Nations is presently holding another human rights conference. The U.S. has again proposed a resolution to condemn China's human rights violations. It is said that this resolution met with much resistance. I want to talk about my understanding of this conference.
I had always thought that the evil would be greatly suppressed if the UN Human Rights Commission can pass this resolution. In addition, all countries that support this resolution would have placed themselves in a highly favorable position and the people in those countries would be saved. Therefore, last year and in earlier years, I focused my mind on how to push the resolution forward and get it passed. I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate interference from evil so the resolution would pass. I clarified the truth to foreign governments so the resolution would pass. We did group exercises and parades to get media attention, just so the resolution would pass.
We all know the result. In prior years, the situation of the UN Human Rights Commission grew worse and the U.S., the only country that proposed the resolution, was kicked out of Human Rights Commission last year. Master had said,
"It's not that the righteous elements have stopped working. It's that sometimes it's easy for the old forces to take advantage of the gaps in what we do."
"But actually, I can tell you what that reflects: We're too dependent on human beings."
("Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference")
Until reading the Fa, I didn't know the cause of the UN situation. I didn't look inside myself. But after reading the Fa, suddenly I understood that my thoughts and actions pursuing the passage of the resolution had become the biggest excuse for the old force taking advantage of my gaps!
In fact, the strong attachment of depending on ordinary humans was the result of my obscure understanding of Fa rectification. Master told us,
"Absolutely don't think about any favors the old forces might do for us, or about how the ordinary society might help us. You are the ones saving the ordinary people's society, and you are the ones saving sentient beings!"
("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")
Only Dafa practitioners can validate Dafa and save people, ordinary people's support is only the reflection of Dafa practitioners' efforts in the human dimension. If we have achieved 90% success in validating Dafa, the passage of the resolution will not bring it up to 100%, and it not passing will not bring the result down to 80%, since ordinary people's efforts will never exceed Dafa practitioners' efforts in saving people.
So how do we look at the situation of the United Nation Human Rights Commission? Many practitioners have already realized that not depending on ordinary people does not mean we don't care about the Human Rights Commission. On the contrary, we must cherish this once-a-year opportunity to clarify the facts to numerous people, since this is the time of year when foreign governments, the public, the media and human rights organizations pay the most attention to human rights issues. We should not worry about whether the wording of the resolution is powerful or not, or that China has proposed not voting. We are not focused on the passage of the resolution. We should give up all human attachments and use as much time as possible to clarify the truth and save people, since that is all we should pay attention to.
Sometimes I feel our dependence on ordinary people is deeply hidden in our minds and we often refuse to recognize and eliminate it with the excuse, "the success of this project will greatly help Fa rectification." Did we make a similar mistake with the Jiang lawsuit in the U.S.? Why did this lawsuit meet with such great resistance in the U.S., a country that opposes persecution and many Americans support Dafa? I remembered Master's words,
"It's not that the righteous elements have stopped working. It's that sometimes it's easy for the old forces to take advantage of the gaps in what we do." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest- U.S. Fa Conference")
On this issue, I think our dependence on ordinary people is the greatest cause for interference. In other words, if we always think about how to make Jiang's lawsuit proceed, we would then be trapped within ordinary people's mindsets. If we give up all attachments and with a pure mind regard this lawsuit as a great opportunity to clarify the truth, if we focus on how to effectively, thoroughly and deeply clarify the truth, while at the same time don't carry any expectation on the future outcome of the lawsuit, then we will not always fall a little short because,
"With attachments left behind, the lightened boats sail swiftly!"
