(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Qin Xing is a freshman in high school. She is an outstanding student in terms of academics and virtue, and she has been a class leader ever since elementary school. She, her mother, little brother and sister all practice Falun Dafa, and they have all gone to Beijing to appeal and validate Dafa. Right now her mother is illegally imprisoned in a labor camp, where she suffers persecution.
On May 22, 2004, the county education bureau hosted a speech contest for praising the virtue of teachers. Qin Xing was ranked number one by her teachers and fellow classmates, and earned a place in the final competition, but the school officials would not accept her essay because Qin Xing praised a female teacher who was recently persecuted to death because she practiced Falun Dafa. This practitioner had shown great virtue while serving as a teacher; her achievements were outstanding, and she was recognized as a model teacher in the county. One school official tried to convince Qin Xing to write another essay praising him.
After Qin Xing calmly thought about this, she said to her guidance teacher, "I practice 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.' I will not say anything that's not true. My original draft was a true story, and it was touching. I insist on using the original." Her teacher replied, "In that case it will be hard. The school official doesn't care whether you win first place; he just wanted to use this opportunity to gain recognition and prestige. You should think over your decision again."
Because this particular school official always denounced Falun Gong, Qin Xing realized that this was not just about who writes what. She went directly to that person and talked to him, telling him the truth about Falun Gong, and asking, "Why are you taking away my original draft?" The school official could not answer and said shamelessly, "No, no, I can't use yours, I dare not use yours!"
Although Qin Xing was disqualified from the contest, she has always spread Dafa among her teachers and classmates. Through this incident she gained even more respect from her classmates. Even teachers who didn't know her came to tell her, "You are very brave, we all support you."
