Facts of the Persecution

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Yuping from Qujing City, Yunnan Province wrote a letter to the Procuratorate that said: "The current 'special' activities to investigate and punish government officials and those who have used their power to infringe upon the basic human rights of others and committed crimes are happening at the procuratorial departments in China. Therefore, I propose an appeal below: On July 20, 1999, the police from the City Public Security Bureau illegally confiscated my personal belongings from my home and detained and interrogated me, violating the state laws that protect us. Also, in the morning of January 30, 2000, when I was practicing the Falun Gong exercises, I was abducted and detained by the officials, and later sentenced to three years of 're-education through forced labor' for 'organizing and utilizing a religious organization to ruin the practice of the state laws', which was not based on any of our laws. I request the court to investigate the individuals involved in the criminal acts committed against me and uphold their legal responsibilities according to the laws. I also request the return of Zhuan Falun and all other Dafa books and to be compensated for the mental anguish and economic loss I suffered.

On July 19, 2004, practitioner Ms. Wang Guifen from Suizhong County, Huludao City, Liaoning Province was abducted for the sixth time by police. The police also searched her home and confiscated some of her items. On the following day, the police sent her to the Masanjia Detention Center in Shenyang City. Ms. Wang is in her fifties. The first time she was illegally sentenced to the Masanjia Detention Center was in 2000 for "re-education through forced labor." After her release, she was again taken by the police and sentenced another four times, which she got out each time with righteous thoughts.

On November 8, 2002, the authorities kidnapped me. On December 9, 2002, I was sentenced to a year and half of "re-education through forced labor" at the Huangchuan County Forced Labor Camp, Henan Province. Every day in the labor camp, people who had been brainwashed tried to "transform" practitioners. The practitioners were severely tortured; some were shocked with electric batons. Practitioners Mr. Pang Liang, Mr. Wang Yukun, Mr. Wu Junqing, Ms. Ye Hongchun, and Ms. Cao Guiwen were all tightly tied up. As a result, Mr. Pang fractured his hand, which has been diagnosed. Mr. Wang is still unable to take care of himself in his daily life. Mr. Wu was not able to take care of himself for several months. Ms. Yie and Ms. Cao were tied up until they fainted. Practitioner Ms. Yue Caiyun was tortured via the" Roasting a Whole Sheep"(1) method that left her bedridden for a long time.

On May 19, 2004, practitioner Ms. Zhang Junyun from Desheng Street, Chuanying District, Jilin City, Jilin Province was abducted by the police from the Dongjuzi Sub-Police Station, Changyi District. On the following day, she was taken to the Third Detention Center in Jilin City where she was beaten by the guards. Ms. Zhang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On June 17, 2004, she was sentenced to a year of "re-education through forced labor" at the Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Zhang's family members went to the Dongjuzi Sub-Police Station and the Changyi Sub-Pubic Security Bureau to ask for her release, but instead were threatened by them. Before sending Ms. Zhang to the camp, the police from the Dongjuzi Sub-Police Station told her family that they would only release Ms. Zhang after receiving ten thousand yuan (2). Ms. Zhang's family worked hard to negotiate with the police. By the time the police agreed to release her after receiving 3,000 yuan, she had already been sent to the Heizuiji Forced Labor Camp. The Dongjuzi Sub-Police Station extorted 3,000 yuan from Ms. Zhang's family without releasing her as they agreed.

Notes:

(1) The "Roasting a Whole Sheep" torture: Practitioner's hands and feet are tied to a long pole or beam and hung parallel to the floor, making practitioners unable to stand or sit. A group of people then surrounded the practitioner and beat the practitioner with their fists and clubs.

(2) yuan: Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 yuan
