Woman Tortured to the Brink of Death - Left Comatose and Weighing Only 45 Pounds - Others Killed - Persecution of Falun Gong in Labor Camps & Prisons in Inner Mongolia

Aug. 23, 2004 |   Written by a Dafa practitioner from Inner Mongolia

(Clearwisdom.net) There are several notorious centers in Inner Mongolia that persecute Falun Gong practitioners, including Huhehaote Women's Labor Camp (also called Shuaijiaying Women's Labor Camp), Tumuji Labor Camp at Zhalaite Town, and Bao'anzhao Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia. Since Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong after July 20, 1999, these labor camps and prisons have all become evil places where Dafa practitioners are persecuted. In the five years since 1999, over 1,000 Dafa practitioners have been detained and persecuted in these centers. Nearly all detained Falun Dafa practitioners were brutally beaten and shocked with electric batons. So far, nine Dafa practitioners have been persecuted to death, dozens of practitioners have been sent to mental hospitals, and over 100 practitioners are still being persecuted.

Because Ms. Wang Xia persisted in telling people the truth about Falun Gong in the face of the Jiang group's lies and defamatory propaganda, she was illegally sentenced to seven years of reeducation through forced labor in the Huhehaote City Women's Prison. For the past two years, Ms. Wang has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and she was force-fed, tortured and given harmful drugs, which devastated her body. Ms. Wang now weights only 20 kilograms (around 45 pounds) and is in a comatose state.

Ms. Wang Xia is 30 years old and is from the Bayanzhuo'er Coalition of Linhe City, Inner Mongolia. In February of 2000, Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal to the government but was arrested and was escorted back to her hometown by members of Linhe Police Department. She was then sentenced to three years of reeducation through forced labor. She was released from detention in the Women's Labor Camp in Huhehaote City after it was discovered that she was six months pregnant. After her release, Ms. Wang continued to tell people the truth about Falun Gong and the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and later she was abducted by the police again. This time, Ms. Wang was illegally sentenced to seven years of forced labor and was detained in the Huhehaote City Women's Prison. Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Because Ms. Wang was on a hunger strike for a long time, the prison guards force-fed her over a long period of time. They tied her arms to a bed and fixed her arms with planks so that she could not move at all. The prison guards kept the force-feeding tube in her body for a long time in order to save themselves the trouble of removing it and reinserting it every time they force-fed her. They only took out the tube every 7 to 15 days and then pretended to wash it. In this way, Ms. Wang was on a hunger strike for two years, and the prison guards force-fed her for two years. During this time, the prison guards also used electric batons to shock her, hung her up by her arms, and beat her. Wang Xia almost died several times from this torture.

The prison guards used all kinds of means to coerce Wang Xia to eat. At one point, Ms. Wang was sent to the hospital of the Inner Mongolia Prison Administration Bureau. There, she was force-fed, and she was also tortured with various drugs. The labor camp cajoled Ms. Wang's family into trying to force Ms. Wang to give in to their demands and even hypocritically called it "salvation." The prison guards shamelessly defamed Ms. Wang and covered up their own evil acts of persecution. They lied to the other detainees claiming that Ms. Wang was detained because she had "illegally traded VCDs."

Ms. Wang resolutely continued the hunger strike and used this method to declare her innocence. Eventually, the prison guards were afraid that Ms. Wang's life was in danger, and she was released unconditionally.

However, Ms. Wang remained unconscious after she was sent home. She used to be a beautiful young girl but now she is emaciated. When she was first detained, Ms. Wang weighed over 55 kilograms (around 120 pounds), but now she weighs only 20 kilograms (45 pounds). Although Ms. Wang is lying unconscious at home right now, her persecutors are still afraid that their brutality will be exposed and they have sent someone to monitor Ms. Wang's home 24 hours a day.

Ms. Zhou Caixia, 42 years old, was the Minister of the Propaganda Department of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. In 2000, because she persisted in practicing Falun Dafa, she was sent to Tumuji Labor Camp in Zhalaite Town, Inner Mongolia, where she suffered cruel and inhumane treatment. In 2001, she was transferred to Huhehaote Women's Labor Camp. In mid-October 2001, Dafa practitioner Wang Lei, who was also detained at that labor camp, spoke with the police to demand that all detained Dafa practitioners be set free with a verdict of not guilty, and she also tore her interrogation record into pieces. Wang Lei was fiercely beaten by the police for half an hour and shocked with electric batons. She had bruises all over her body, could not walk properly, and was later secretly isolated in solitary confinement. Because they didn't know where Wang Lei had been taken, the other Dafa practitioners in the labor camp went on a hunger strike as a group protest. Zhou Caixia asked the police for Wang Lei's whereabouts, and as a result she was sent to a brainwashing class that was held once every month. The brainwashing class lasted for two weeks, and during that time Zhou Caixia was shocked with electric batons every day, handcuffed, hung up, and beaten by many people. Ms. Zhou was almost completely deprived of sleep and was tortured severely every 1 to 2 hours.

Later, Zhou Caixia went on a hunger strike to protest against the persecution, and within the first few days, the policemen force-fed her. Seeing that she refused to eat, one policeman surnamed Liu force-fed Ms. Zhou lime [a caustic mineral that burns the skin and is toxic in large quantities]. The lime made Ms. Zhou feel like her internal organs were on fire, and it was so painful that she cried out in agony. However, that policeman just sneered. After more than ten days of torture, Zhou Caixia couldn't endure it any longer and started to show signs of mental collapse. She was sent to the Chifeng City Mental Hospital, and later she was sent home. In early 2003, Zhou Caixia recovered and began once again telling the facts about Falun Gong to people. She was arrested again and detained in the Hongshan District Detention Center in Chifeng City, where she went on a hunger strike again. During her hunger strike, Ms. Zhou was sentenced to seven years in prison. However, she became critically ill. Only seven days after she was sent to Bao'anzhao Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia, Ms. Zhou Caixia died, persecuted to death.

Zheng Lanfeng was a 43-year-old self-employed businesswoman from Chifeng City. In 2000, she was sent to Tumuji Forced Labor Camp, where she was tortured. Ms. Zheng was released at the end of 2002 but was arrested again together with Ms. Zhou Caixia. She went on a hunger strike in the Hongshan District Detention Center in Chifeng City. One day in March 2003, police killed Ms. Zheng Lanfeng during a brutal force-feeding session.
