Different Mindsets Produce Different Words and Actions

Sept. 6, 2004 |   By a practitioner in Mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) I recently went to another town to visit practitioners there. I gained a deeper understanding on the connotations of "Fa-rectification Dafa disciple." I would like to share some of my thoughts below:

One day, practitioner A saw that the local TV station broadcast some anti-Falun Gong footage. At the same time, practitioner B felt sad that the area had committed more karma. Practitioner C wondered how to stop the evil. Besides sending forth righteous thought, he didn't know what else to do.

The next day, after practitioner A finished her housework, she went to the TV station quietly by herself. The guard asked her about the purpose of her visit. She explained in a simple and straightforward manner. The guard didn't know what to do. He hesitated and said, "I don't know about this. You have to go ask the director of the station." Apparently practitioner A's pure righteous thoughts touched him. Practitioner A walked into the TV station, smiled and said she wanted to chat with the director. It happened that the director was not around. The editors and other staff received her. She told people the truth of Falun Gong calmly and kindly. She talked about her own experience and told people that Falun Dafa is good, and that opposing Falun Dafa is a sin that is bad for oneself and is also a sad thing for everybody in the entire town. She told them of the law of the universe that good deeds are met with good returns and that evil deeds are met with due retribution. For the sake of the people in her own town, she said she wanted to come and explain to them the truth of Falun Gong. Then she said goodbye to everyone and went home. The entire process was natural and easy.

Practitioner A said that she was very calm that day. She only thought that a Dafa practitioner should protect Dafa with a pure heart. No matter what others said, she always kindly explained the situation until they had no more questions.

Practitioner B praised A, and then said, "Luckily the director was not there. Otherwise there might have been trouble."

Practitioner C praised A's braveness, and then looked down, as if he was saying he was not good enough.

When I heard the story, I thought about the anti-Falun Gong articles in the local newspaper of my area. At that time, I was hesitating about whether I should expose the evil on Minghui.net [the Chinese version of Clearwisdom], but I didn't know how to expose it. Compared with practitioner A's story, I realized that I didn't have enough righteous thoughts, even though I thought I had. Looking inside, I found a series of human notions, such as worry, wanting to rely on others, and selfishness, among others, all mixed together. My heart was not pure. I asked myself, "Why hadn't I thought about going to the newspaper and clarifying the truth myself?" Each different thought brings about a huge difference in consequences. One thought has brought out and exposed my human mind and mentality. No wonder I was feeling uneasy no matter what I did.

Whenever I thought about practitioner A's simple words of self-awareness, I was reminded about practitioners being "Fa-rectification Dafa disciples." A Fa-rectification Dafa disciple protects the Fa (1) naturally and proactively. One doesn't need to think or talk about how to do something to validate the Fa; everything is natural and conforms to society's rules.
