Master Personally Hands Out Drinking Water to Practitioners in Manhattan--Practitioners Feel the Urgency for Clarifying the Truth

Sept. 8, 2004 |   By Overseas Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) During the morning of Wednesday, September 1, 2004, Clearwisdom.net published Master's new article "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People."

It was extremely hot that day. Around mid-day, our benevolent Master personally went to the streets of Manhattan to give drinking water to practitioners. Those on the spot were moved to tears, and those who heard about this were also moved to tears. Practitioners felt that it was a gesture of encouragement from Master to all of us as one body, and Master was encouraging us to do even better to clarify the truth and offer salvation to the people. We should have practitioners on all streets in Manhattan to distribute truth-clarifying literature, particularly during the week, from Monday through Friday.

According to the recollection of practitioners from northern California, at the time they were holding banners on Broadway Avenue and distributing flyers to passers-by, a car stopped by the side of the road and one practitioner walked up to give the occupants flyers. Just then, the back window of the car was rolled down and to his pleasant surprise, this practitioner saw Master sitting in the car, with a kind smile on his face. Master asked how many practitioners there were on the site. The practitioners told Master that there were seven of them. Then Master took out seven bottles of water and gave them to the practitioner, who was so touched and put his hands together to do the Heshi hand gesture, to express his gratitude to Master. Practitioners cherished the water and shared the extraordinary event with every practitioner they came across.

On the other side of Broadway Avenue, a practitioner from Colorado shared his story. At mid-day on September 1, he and another practitioner were distributing flyers, while another practitioner was sending forth righteous thoughts. Just then, a car drove towards them. The driver waved to him and asked if he needed any drinking water. He walked up to the back seat of the car and accepted some water. Only then did he realise that the person who was giving him water was Master. Master said to him, "You have been working very hard." The practitioner recalled, "I felt very emotional at that moment, because usually we only have an opportunity to see Master at a Fa conference. I was so excited that I even forgot to greet Master. The water was too precious to drink. I felt that Master was encouraging us by coming in person to give us water."

During the Republican National Convention, Falun Gong practitioners held daily torture exhibits on the Manhattan streets; they distributed truth-clarifying materials and formed a wall of courage. All these have become a series of special scenes in Manhattan. Every practitioner has many touching stories to tell. Manhattan is awakening and the media, which had been quiet in the past, has begun to take notice of practitioners. At least two TV stations and three newspapers have come to interview practitioners and took photos of the torture exhibits. The compassion of Dafa practitioners is helping people in this centrally located city in the human world become kinder and more compassionate.

At the same time there are still many streets in Manhattan that practitioners have not yet been to, and there are still many people who have not had an opportunity to learn about the truth, or they have walked past us without being able to see the truth clearly.

Master said in "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People": "Dafa disciples, don't forsake the magnificent responsibility that has been bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification, and even less should you disappoint those beings, as you are now their only hope for entering the future. For this reason, all Dafa disciples, students both new and veteran, should get to work and begin comprehensively clarifying the truth."
