(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cong Guixian was sentenced to 10 years at the Women's Prison of Jilin Province, where she suffered brutal mental and physical torture. She was forced to attend brainwashing sessions during the day and then was interrogated at night. She was not allowed to sleep for prolonged periods of time. She lived in a state of extreme weariness.
On September 2, 2004, Ms. Cong's husband went to the prison to visit her. However, the head official with the last name of Cao, in the district of the prison where Ms. Cong was detained, demanded that her husband persuade Ms. Cong to give up her belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." Her husband refused. Because of this, Cao refused to let him visit his wife. Furthermore, Cao said that he would put even more pressure on Ms. Cong.
On September 22, 2004, Ms. Cong Guixian's elder sister went to the prison to visit her. Under close watch, Ms. Cong told her sister, "The head of our prison district with the last name Cao told me that my husband dropped by the prison, but he didn't want to see me. He only left me with 500 "yuan" and some daily supplies before he left." When her sister explained what happened, Ms. Cong Guixian was very angry about the lies that Cao told her.
On December 2, 2004, when her family members visited Ms. Cong, she told them that she found something hard in the shape of an egg inside her right breast, and she also had a high fever. She said that the administration of the prison didn't give her any treatment.
On December 17, the second time her family members visited her, Ms. Cong told them that the hard lump inside her body kept growing and was even bigger than last time. When she talked about her situation with the administration of the prison, they said they were going to arrange a medical consultation for her that afternoon and would start to give her medical treatment, but in fact they failed to do anything. In other words, knowing that the hard lump inside Ms. Cong's breast had grown to the size of an egg, and was increasing rapidly in size, and that she had a high fever, the administration of the prison didn't give do any form of diagnosis or any treatment. As a result, her illness got worse. Even more, they hid the truth of her illness from her family members all along. At present, Ms. Cong's illness is serious and she has been sent to the Central Hospital of the Jilin Prison Administration Bureau. The doctors at this hospital said that there was a 95% chance that Ms. Cong's disease was cancer. They said further that she needed an urgent operation right away.
On several occasions, Ms. Cong's family demanded that she be released. However, the prison administration has refused to do so.
