Torture Experiences of a Dafa Practitioner in the Guye District of Tangshan City

Dec. 28, 2005

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Mr. Dang Aimin, from the Guye District in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, has been arrested, detained, sentenced to forced labor, subjected to brainwashing and brutally tortured several times since July 20, 1999, merely because he believes in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." He once was almost tortured to death. Presently, 610 Office agents are still detaining him inside the Zhao Mine Hospital for an unlimited time.

In October 2000, Mr. Dang went to Beijing with a dozen other practitioners to appeal for Falun Gong and clarify the truth. Guye Liaison Office officials in Beijing arrested him and took him home. After that, he was held in the Guye Detention Center.

Mr. Dang believed that it was right for him to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and clarify the truth, so he went to Beijing again. Once more he was arrested and deprived of his freedom in the Guye Detention Center, where he was tortured. He held a hunger strike to protest. The guards then ordered criminal detainees to use three-inch-long needles to stab his body and face. He was stabbed over 100 times. He was bleeding badly, yet the guards kept asking, "Do you still practice Falun Gong? If you still do, we will keep stabbing you."

In addition, the guards put him in shackles and handcuffs. Once some criminal detainees covered Mr. Dang tightly with a cotton quilt, and six or seven of them pressed down on him until he could not breathe. The criminal detainees would not let him sleep on a bed. He had to sleep on the ice-cold floor.

Mr. Dang was beaten almost daily in the detention center. Some criminal detainees used a wide toothbrush handle to grind his fingers until his bones were exposed. The scars are still visible. The guards also used shoe soles to hit his buttocks and caused severe injuries. During the hot summer days he was not allowed to take a shower. Hence, the wound on his buttocks became infected and had a bad odor. Afterwards, the scabs were huge and covered a large area.

Dang Aimin was then sentenced to forced labor and imprisoned at the Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan. The environment in the labor camp was extremely vicious. First of all, he was subjected to one month of "strictly disciplined" torture and forced to sit on a small stool for 12 hours daily with his back straight. While sitting, he could not move at all. Sitting like this for such a long time, a small move would cause his bones to abrade the skin. A mixture of blood and flesh stuck to his underwear, which caused enormous pain. Scabs would form overnight and be rubbed and broken open again the next day, repeating the process. Dafa practitioners are suffering from such kinds of inhuman atrocities every day.

One day guard Li Xiaozhong found Mr. Dang practicing the Falun Gong exercises. The labor camp then started the "roping" torture. One of the guards gripped Mr. Dang's forehead with his legs, pulled Aimin's arms behind his back and crossed them to the maximum limit. Another guard used a finger-thick nylon rope to tie Mr. Dang's hands up. The rope was forced into his flesh. His shoulders hurt severely, making his shoulders and arms completely numb. He could not raise his arms due to the numbness. The guards then pulled his arms straight and shook them. The more they shook his arms, the more they hurt. After being subjected to this brutal torture three times, people normally vomit, their hearts palpitate, and they get short of breath and pale. Yet, the guards repeated this torture on him seven times.

Ordered by the prison guards, nine prisoners gripped Mr. Dang's hands and used toothbrush handles to grind his fingers until the flesh on his fingers fell off, and the bones were exposed. After that, the prisoners asked him, "Do you still practice Falun Gong?" He said, "Yes!" They then used a rolling pin to grind on his legs until the bones were exposed.

Mr. Dang Aimin was constantly beaten in the labor camp. Once, the guards used electric batons to shock him, and he fainted right away. In addition, he was forced to stand still until his legs turned black.

After ten months, Mr. Dang was reduced to skin and bones as a result of the tortures. He almost died once. After that, the labor camp decided to let his work unit take him back, but the employers would not let him go home. They transferred him to the Zhao Mine Hospital, where he was further persecuted.

According to inside information, while Mr. Dang was in the hospital, the guards put something in his food causing him to have diarrhea. He became very weak after that.

After escaping from the hospital, Mr. Dang went to Beijing again but was once more arrested. Agents from the Zhao Mine 610 Office locked him inside an iron cage. He was tied up. He suffered once again from the "roping" torture carried out by deputy chief Li Xiangpu. He was not given any food or water. Mr. Dang's whole body swelled as a result of the torture. He was unable to eat because he would vomit everything he ate. He was locked inside the cage for more than a month.

The Zhao Mine Police then locked Mr. Dang up inside the Tangshan City Textile University Brainwashing Center. Once he shouted out, "Falun Dafa is great!" Because of that, police officers Wang Zhijie, Tian Lianfeng and Meng dragged him outside. Wang beat and kicked him, Tian stepped onto his face with leather shoes, and Meng hit his head with a hard plastic club and broke his head open. It kept bleeding. In the winter, Mr. Dang was imprisoned in an empty room. He had to sleep on a piece of newspaper on the floor. Later this piece of newspaper was taken away. On the coldest days of winter, when police officer Tian had layers of clothes on and still felt cold, he forced Mr. Dang, who had on only a sweater, to stand outside in the coldest spot for the entire day.

Mr. Dang also suffered from random beatings by the so-called "aides." He was not allowed to sleep for 24 hours. His every move was restricted, including going to the toilet. At the end of 2003, two guards from the Zhao Mine injured him. Tufts of his hair were pulled out, and his eyes were bruised. His head was full of blisters. He could not stand straight and had to lie on the floor.

Mr. Dang spent 270 days under these appalling conditions. When there was no place to go to appeal, he started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He was physically weak. He was later transferred to the Zhao Mine Local Police Station and eventually to the Zhao Mine Hospital.

Mr. Dang's prison sentence expired long ago, but the Communist Party Committee from the Zhao Mine, 610 Office agents, and personnel from the local police station still will not release him. They are detaining him under the guise of providing him with medical treatment in the Zhao Mine Hospital.
