The Liberty Times (Taiwan): Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Group Practice and Protest Chinese Communist Party's Atrocities (Photo)

Dec. 29, 2005

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 25, 2005, more than 4,000 practitioners from around Taiwan gathered on the square in front of Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall and formed a Falun emblem, the symbol of Falun Gong. There were also practitioners from other countries, holding banners to protest the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s atrocities.

Several thousand practitioners from Taiwan form Falun emblem

The Liberty Times reported on December 26 that more than 4,000 practitioners from Taiwan formed a Falun Emblem on the square in front of Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall and held a group practice yesterday. An elderly lady in her 80s came by wheelchair to participate in the formation of the emblem. A four-year-old little girl came with her parents to participate in the group practice.

Mr. Liao Hsiao-Feng, Standing Director of the Falun Dafa Association of Taiwan, said that more people participated in this year's group practice than in previous years, and it was the first time they formed the Falun emblem. Because a large number of people are needed to form the emblem, previously only China could have such an activity. It was never formed again after 1999, when the CCP began persecuting Falun Gong. The formation of the emblem in Taipei was the first since 1999. The association spent three months in preparation.

Since the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong began, approximately 3000 practitioners have died from police brutality, and more than 100,000 are imprisoned. These are documented cases and there are actually more imprisoned or killed that have yet to be documented.

Democratic Taiwan supports Falun Gong practitioners, and practitioners from other countries also came yesterday to protest the CCP's atrocities.

Ms. Liang Zhen from Hong Kong came to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall with photos of her mother and brother. Ms. Liang said that her mother and brother had been unlawfully imprisoned since July. "The CCP persecutes my family." She asked Hong Kong legislators and US congressmen to write to the governor of Sichuan Province and Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to seek the release of her mother and brother. However, it was not successful. Thus she called on all countries to condemn the Chinese Communist regime's violation of human rights.
