Practitioner Mr. Li Liang lives in Tianjin. Since 1999, he has been confined in labor camps three times for a total of four-and-a-half years solely because of his belief in Falun Dafa. Right now he is facing another labor camp term.

On May 16, 2005, Mr. Li's parents received a notice saying that their son, who had been held for seven months at the time, was again sentenced to forced labor and that he had refused to sign the verdict. Mr. Li's parents insisted that he hadn't done anything unlawful by practicing Truth, Compassion, Forbearance, and they also refused to sign. Li Liang's current situation is unknown.

On October 2, 2004, Song Xiaosheng and Liu Guangtao from the Hebei District Party Division in Tianjin arrested Mr. Li Liang and held him at the Wanghailou Police Station in the Hebei District. Practitioner Zhang Zhenguang in Hebei Province recounts persecution experiences

In practitioner Zhang Zhenguang's own words: "At 9:00 a.m. on March 11, 2004, I was working in the fields, when officers from the Yangmazhuang Township Police Station in Yongqing County, Langfang City, abducted me and took me to a detention center. Around 8:00 p.m. the same day, Liang Chengshan, head of the police station (who later died) went berserk. He hit my head and face with rubber boots, and he ground my big toe with his hard boots. A group of his henchmen hit my face until it turned black and blue. My head was covered with bumps, and my shirt was torn. I defied the persecution and started a hunger strike. Several days later they sent me to Team 7 at the Kaiping Labor Camp in Tangshan City where they force-fed me.

"Several days later they sent me to an education center where they didn't let me rest at night and tortured me in the day. The same day, fellow practitioner Han Zhenju, who was later tortured to death in May 2004, explained the persecution to Xu Deshan, head of the education center. As a result, Han Zhenju and I were sent to a special division, where nine practitioners were being held. On May 13, 2004, Han Zhenju held a hunger strike to protest the persecution by Li Yi, the group head, and others. Practitioner Han Zhenju was tortured to death four days later.

"At noon on July 9, 2004, Li Hongbin and group head Xu Jianmin beat me and then sent me to a solitary confinement cell. Zhang Jianyong, the group head, kicked my hands with his hard boots and then handcuffed me for seven days and eight nights during which time I got very little sleep. I held a hunger strike during this period. A doctor came to see me, and I was sent to a hospital. Several days later at 3:00 a.m. I was sent to the Kaiping Hospital. Because I refused to cooperate with them, they took me back to the labor camp hospital where they gave me an infusion. I held a hunger strike until January 2005."

Ruthless tortures at the Wafangdian Prison in Liaoning Province

About 40 practitioners from all over Liaoning Province are being illegally held at Wafangdian Prison. The guards and regular inmates savagely torture the practitioners. As a result, three practitioners have suffered broken ribs and many practitioners have been otherwise severely injured.

One of the tortures is called the "Special Bed." The practitioner's four limbs are restrained, and the practitioner is forced to relieve himself in bed. Each practitioner is watched around the clock by two inmates, who beat and kick the practitioner at will and do not allow the practitioner to sleep at night. Practitioners Song Yuegang and Lu Jinyu from Benxi City and Kou Jianhua from another city were tortured this way for several months.

Another torture tool is called the tiger bench. In mid-March 2004, practitioner Zhao Chenglin from Benxi City was placed under Strict Control. The guards ordered the inmates to beat him until he vomited blood. On September 13, 2004, many inmates beat practitioner Yang Guoqian until his head was injured and his face was covered with blood. To cover up their crime, they locked him in solitary confinement, where they continued to persecute him.

Practitioner Gao Hui from Liaoyang City, in his 50's, suffered internal injuries from beatings, and practitioner Song Yuegang contracted tuberculosis. Practitioner Xu Zhibin from Jinzhou City is 1.8 meters tall, but his current weight is only 40 kilograms due to torture, and he cannot take care of himself. When his family visited him, two people carried him out and he had no feeling in his feet. After the visit his family asked that he receive medical treatment, but they haven't received any response from the prison authorities since the made the request in October 2004.

Practitioners Yu Yue, Lu Guozhan and Liu Fangxu from Dalian City had several ribs broken from beatings. They are suffering from severe chest pain and have difficulty breathing and eating. The prison authorities strictly block information and refuse family visits, monitoring those visits they allow.

Practitioners in Wei County, Hebei Province, cruelly beaten by perpetrators from the 610 Office

Practitioner Ms. Zhao Suying from Xihe Village, Xiheying Town, Wei County, was sent to the county detention center. Wang Sui, secretary of the village Party Committee, and others from the town 610 Office are responsible. She held a hunger strike and was tortured until she is skin and bones. They released her but planned to abduct her again. Other practitioners moved her elsewhere.

At midnight on January 14, 2002, officials from the Xiheying 610 Office abducted Mr. Zhang, who had participated in moving Ms. Zhao Suying away. They brutally beat Zhang's hands until they were covered in blood. They pushed him into a dark room and kicked, beat and stomped on him until his body was covered in bruises. In addition, they burned his hands with a red-hot iron rod. They handcuffed him behind his back and hit his shoulders and back with a broom. Wang hit him so violently with a wooden stick over two inches in diameter that the stick broke in two. Then Wang picked up a broken half and beat Mr. Zhang again. He also used a rubber club to hit Mr. Zhang's calves and legs and slapped his face until Mr. Zhang started seeing stars and blood came out of his nose and ears. He proceeded to shock Mr. Zhang's face and neck with high-voltage electric batons, making him go into convulsions. Then he tied Mr. Zhang to a pole in the courtyard and beat him with an electric baton until the two-inch-in-diameter baton broke in two. By 10:00 p.m. Mr. Zhang showed symptoms of severe injury. He sweat profusely, and his eyes rolled back in his head.

Around 2:00 p.m. on January 17, 2002, they sent Mr. Mr. Zhang to the county detention center, where the guards encouraged the inmates, including criminals on death row for murder, to torture him. They forced him to sleep on the wet concrete ground; they hit his buttocks with the sole of their shoes until blood gushed forth; they poured cold water on him; and they pushed his head into a barrel containing urine and feces. They also forced him to kneel on bricks, sand, broken glass, and wooden sticks and to stand on bricks.
