(Clearwisdom.net) Before the G8 Summit, more than twenty Falun Gong practitioners held a peaceful appeal outside the Chinese Consulate in Edinburgh on July 4, 2005. The practitioners were protesting the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of their fellow practitioners in China, especially the murder of Ms. Gao Rongrong. They also showed their concern for the safety of Yang Feng, a former U.K. Falun Gong practitioner who is now detained in China.
The practitioners held banners reading, "Gao Rongrong Died from Torture" and "Falun Dafa is Great" while others distributed leaflets to passers-by. A British TV station interviewed one practitioner who had suffered severe persecution in Mainland China.
The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has been reported by the media many times and has been condemned by international human rights organizations. Even when the CCP's new leader took power, the cruel persecution suffered by Falun Gong practitioners continued. This year, CCP President Hu Jintao attended the G8 Summit.
