Recalling Master's Lecture in Taiwan in 1997

Jan. 2, 2006 |   By Lin Fusheng, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Taiwan

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa was first spread to Taiwan in April 1995. More than 10 years have passed, and there are now over 1,000 practice sites in Taiwan. Practitioners there range from university professors to doctors, lawyers, engineers, public servants, police, farmers, businessmen, students, and housewives. Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) is highly recognized by local Taiwan governments and societies.

In May 1997, Mr. Lin Fusheng, a former tailor who had retired six years before, started learning Falun Gong. Not long after practicing, ailments such as body pain and stiffness in his back disappeared. His complexion became rosy. He got rid of his cigarette addiction. Black hair even grew back on his bald head. Over 40 years of taking medication had finally ended.

Half a year later, Master Li Hongzhi visited Taiwan in November 1997 and gave lectures at Taipei City Sanxing Elementary School and Taizhong City Wufeng Farm. The two lectures lasted for ten hours. Around 1,000 Taiwan practitioners were fortunate enough to attend. The deepest impression Mr. Lin had was that Master did not take any breaks during the five to six hour lecture. Some practitioners asked Master to take a break, but Master only waved his hands and said that he didnt need any rest.

Lin Fusheng recalled, "It was very hot on the day Master lectured. Many practitioners did not bring any water with them. We were very thirsty. After the more-than-five-hour lecture, everyone hurried to find water during the break."

After listening to Master's lecture, Mr. Lin thought about why Master did not rest and continued lecturing. He later enlightened that it was due to Master's enormous compassion for everyone to listen to more Fa. In order to let the sentient beings listen to the Buddha Fa, Master was not willing to take a break of even one minute.

Mr. Lin personally felt Master's dignity and compassion. He recalled, "I remember Master saying that in every lecture he gave that he needed to send out a large amount of energy. I indeed felt the preciousness and solemnity. At the lecture hall, I indeed felt the energy sent out by Master. I was originally sitting in the first row, but later moved to the third row as I was embarrassed to sit at the front. However, I was still very close to the stage."

Now, thinking back, Mr. Lin feels immersed in this overwhelming happiness. The memory of that precious experience always warms his heart.
