Sound of Hope: Investigator Advises International Community to Boycott Olympic Games if Persecution Continues

Oct. 13, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada, conducted an independent investigation on the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. He visited Hong Kong on Monday and called on Hong Kong society and the public to continue paying attention to the CCP's atrocities of organ harvesting. He also called on the international community to boycott the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

Sound of Hope reported on October 9 that Mr. Kilgour, Mr. Szeto Wah, President of Hong Kong Residents Supporting China Democratic Movement Union and Mr. Ho Chun Yan, member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, held a joint press conference on Monday. The latter two invited Mr. Kilgour to visit Hong Kong. The press conference introduced the response in the international community after the release of the independent investigation report on the CCP's organ harvesting. Mr. Kilgour and Mr. Matas went to fifteen countries and areas to introduce their investigation report and made four significant breakthroughs. The government and Official Opposition in Australia, and European Union have taken position actions to ask for an independent international investigation on CCP's organ harvesting. Mr. Kilgour gave a speech in the Human Rights Council's second session in Geneva. Recently, the US Congress conducted the first hearing on the issue. Mr. Kilgour warned in the press conference if China's human rights continue to deteriorate, they would call for a boycott of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The CCP promised the International Olympic Committee to improve human rights before the 2008 Olympic Games. But last month, Amnesty International released a human rights report condemning the CCP for China's human rights deteriorating.

Mr. Matas, the other author of the independent investigation report, visited Hong Kong in July. Mr. Kilgour will meet political leaders and medical circle figures. Mr. Ho Chun Yan, the host of the event, said that by exposing the facts in Hong Kong, it is quite meaningful since it is a territory of China.

Mr. Szeto Wah, President of Hong Kong Residents Supporting China Democratic Movement Union said, "Atrocities of live organ harvesting is a disgrace for human beings. Kind-hearted people in Hong Kong need to speak out. The CCP's mobile death execution vehicle that was recently disclosed by media demonstrates that the CCP's crimes of organ harvesting have not stopped, they have just been more carefully covered up."

Mr. Zhu Keming, a Falun Gong practitioner in Hong Kong who was illegally imprisoned for five years in China for suing Jiang, also gave a speech at the press conference. He offered witness that he himself was tortured by the CCP, including electric shocks and frequent blood testing without explanation.
