Oct. 22, 2006 |   By a practitioner in Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Zhongren lived in Linghe Village, Linghe Town, Anqiu City, Shandong Province. He started cultivating Falun Dafa in 1996, and said very excitedly after reading Zhuan Falun, "This is the Fa I am supposed to receive. My mother told me on her deathbed, 'You must wait to receive the Fa.'" He became very strong and healthy from the practice. Not only could he take care of himself, but he could also do lots of farm work.

After the Chinese Communist Party "CCP" began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Sun Zhongren went to Beijing to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa. He was illegally arrested on the way, and was detained in Linghe Town Police Station. Mr. Sun went on a hunger strike to protest his arrest, and was released.

Upon returning home, the town government assigned one person from his village to closely monitor Mr. Sun at home.

In 2002, policemen from the local station harassed Mr. Sun at home. They forced him to undergo brainwashing, ransacked his home, and took all of his Falun Dafa books away. Ever since then, Mr. Sun Zhongren was bedridden for more than one year. He could not take care of himself, and he died at the end of 2003.

In the past seven years, at least 18 Falun Dafa practitioners from the city of Anqiu have died in the persecution. They are: Ms. Su Baolan, Ms. Guo Ruixuw, Mr. Niu Xigong, Ms. Cao Guiying, Mr. Song Xishan, Ms. Song Jinfang, Ms. Wang Shirun's mother-in-law, Mr. Sun Zhongren, Ms. Li Chunhong, Mr. Zhang Guanglin, Ms. Wang Lanfen, Mr. Zhou Chengsen, Mr. Zhanghua, Ms. Ji Xiulan, Mr. Zhou Baisheng, Zhou Shurong (gender unknown), Wang Zuoying (gender unknown), and Mr. Li Zemin. Ten practitioners from Anqiu have been sentenced to heavy prison terms, with the longest being twelve years. More than one hundred practitioners from Anqiu were sentenced to forced labor camps. Some have been sent twice to labor camps. Many practitioners suffered broken families and have been forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. Practitioners have had their retirement salaries withheld, some as long as four years. Countless practitioners' homes have been ransacked. Grain, farming tools and possessions have been taken away from practitioners' families (typically in Guanzhuang Town and Nanliu Town in 1999). Anqiu CCP Deputy Secretary Wang Naiping (male, also former CCP Political and Judiciary Committee Secretary) and former CCP Deputy Secretary (also current mayor) Wang Jihuai (male) are mainly responsible for the persecution in this area.
