Australia: Falun Gong Practitioners Call upon Singapore Government Not to Help the CCP Do Evil (Photos)

Dec. 15, 2006 |   By a practitioner from Australia

(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of December 7, 2006, practitioners from Sydney and Canberra held a rally and press conference in front of the Singapore Embassy in Australia to protest the Singapore government’s guilty verdict against two Falun Gong practitioners. The verdict ignores the Singapore constitution, and violates the law in Singapore and international conventions simply to flatter the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Austrian Falun Gong practitioners strongly urged the Singapore government to correct this undermining of human rights, and to release the two innocent Falun Gong practitioners, Ng Chye Huay and Erh Boon Tiong, immediately.

Practitioners presented banners in both Chinese and English reading "Singapore, Don’t Be the CCP’s Accomplice in the Persecution of Falun Gong" and "The Singapore Government Should Drop the Irrational Charge against Falun Gong Practitioners." Many passers-by understood the truth. Many drivers honked to greet practitioners.

Mrs. Dai Zhizhen and Xie Yan, the representatives of Falun Gong practitioners from Australia, gave speeches at the rally. They called upon the Singapore government not to help the CCP do evil. They said that the whole world is paying attention to this case and they hoped the Singapore government would make the right decision. Mr. Colleen, the host of the press conference, said that Singapore is a democrat country and it has laws. The judge's refusal to accept the evidence provided by Falun Gong practitioners was unfair and irrational, and he delivered an unjust verdict.

Practitioners delivered a protest letter from the Falun Dafa Association in Australia to the Singapore Embassy, urging the Singapore authorities to immediately drop the charges against the two unreasonably detained Falun Gong practitioners and to release them.

In the protest letter, practitioners pointed out that the Singapore government’s charge against Falun Gong practitioners is a serious mistake. For its own benefit, the Singapore government should correct this mistake and apologize to the practitioners. The freedoms of belief, speech, and gathering are protected by the international convention on human rights. Practitioners called upon the Singapore government to act as do most governments in the world, by requesting that the CCP stop the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners and protect basic human rights. Practitioners hope that the Singapore government understands that the persecution against Falun Gong is a serious mistake and releases the two practitioners. Practitioners expressed hope that the Singapore government would uphold the basic values of freedom and democracy and make the correct decision.
