Slovakia: Human Rights Day in Bratislava (Photos)

Dec. 17, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) On Friday, December 8th, Falun Gong practitioners came to Bratislava to draw attention to the persecution in China on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.

The practitioners displayed banners depicting the peaceful Falun Gong exercises contrasting with scenes of the persecution which the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) perpetrates in China. Some banners showed the torture to which the Falun Gong practitioners in China are subjected and also the recently exposed CCP crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit.

It was a nice sunny day and crowds of people passed by. They took fliers distributed by the practitioners, and some stopped and signed the petition. "Thank you," said a practitioner to passers-by who had just signed the petition. "I thank you," was the answer. An older lady stood nearby and refused a flier, saying, "We already know about you, I am just waiting here for my daughter, who went to see you in order to sign your petition." One young man, who just signed the petition, said to his friend: "Look at what is happening in China. I don't understand how these people (pointing to passers-by) ) can walk by like this."

During the activity more than a hundred people signed the petition and a few thousand people took informational fliers about Falun Gong.
