(Clearwisdom.net) Many practitioners clarify the truth via making phone calls to people in China. I first participated in truth-clarification by telephone following group practice. Two groups took turns to make phone calls. One group called while the other group sent forth righteous thoughts. We did not have a good understanding about sending forth righteous thoughts then, so some people's concentration was not strong enough. However, making phone calls has also been a process for me to understand the Fa.

One experience that stays particularly in my mind was my first phone call to a notorious forced labor camp. The person answering the phone disconnected me four times and also used foul language. But I did not give up, redialed again, and told him how good Falun Dafa is. He continued to verbally abuse me with worse language than I had ever heard before. My human side came out. I obviously did not have a good understanding of the Fa then and used my human thoughts to deal with the situation. I thought, "I am 50 years old. I should not have to listen to his diatribe." I shouted back, "Are you not afraid to destroy your body and soul?" He did not know what I was talking about and continued shouting. He even said, "If you call me again, I will kill one of the Dafa practitioners." I replied firmly, "The Fa rectifies the Cosmos! The Evil is completely eliminated!"

The other practitioners that participated in making these calls heard this, and they had various reactions. Some said that I was not compassionate and did not act like a cultivator. A male practitioner said something that really hurt my feelings. He said, "In a restaurant, to make money, a waitress has to smile, even if the customer is angry and pours a drink in her face. The way you talked on the phone wouldn't save any lives. Isn't that so?" I tried to control my temper and apologized for what I had done by saying, "I had a cultivation problem and my demon nature came out. Thank you for your kind understanding. I will dial that phone number again to apologize."

When I was reconnected, I heard the dirtiest language that I had ever heard. It was really difficult to endure, but I tried to be tolerant. I worried what the practitioners around me would think and swiftly completed the call.

The next day I told the group coordinator, "I won’t make phone calls to clarify the truth in front of the group." The coordinator discussed this issue with me using words from Master’s lectures and encouraged me to try again. Later we studied "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A." One paragraph sticks in my mind. Master said,

I realized that I had more human thoughts than righteous thoughts; that is why I could not do well with truth-clarification. I also realized the importance of Fa study.

After this incident we realized that we are one body. When we are telling the facts, we are faced with evil factors from other dimensions that manifest in human beings, and we have to eliminate them by sending forth righteous thoughts. However, we have to be kind to people. I gradually understood this aspect of the Fa and persisted in clarifying the truth.

Master said,

Below are some of my experiences calling China.

One day I had read of a persecution incident on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. It said that some people from a police station illegally searched a Dafa practitioner's home and took away a computer and 8,000 yuan in cash. When I called that police station, I told the person that answered that I knew what they had done and I also clarified the facts to him. He was quite nervous and asked me where I had gotten their phone number. I told him, "The international media has paid close attention to this persecution incident." I also told him how good Falun Gong is and asked him be kind to practitioners. He ended up promising to return the money and the computer. When I called a week later he told me that he had returned everything.

Master said,

I came to the deep realization that when truth-clarifying telephone calls reach people who have done evil acts, those evil factors will be eliminated. People are awakening. A telephone call is a fast and direct way to stop evil acts.

Another time I saw on the Clearwisdom website that a Dafa materials production site was destroyed and four practitioners were arrested. One practitioner was forced to write a guarantee statement to give up Falun Gong and was also compelled to jump from the third floor of a building so that she was paralyzed and had to live with assistance. The article did not provide the phone number. I searched very hard to find it.

I thought, "Falun Gong practitioners are one body; whether inside or outside of Mainland China, we should help each other. I should tell the facts to lighten the pressure for the practitioners in China." With this righteous thought I was able to connect with that practitioner. She was deeply moved. She regretted what she had done. She told me that she had written those guarantee statements in a moment of weakness and could not face Master, that she was not responsible to herself and to the Fa and was no longer a qualified Dafa practitioner. I shared my thoughts with her based on the Fa and hoped it would help her to not rebuke herself again.

I told her, "Each Dafa practitioner had his/her own cultivation path, and Master treasures everyone of us. We should never give up. We must be firm and persist in the Fa." I did call her back later on and read Master's new articles with her. Little by little she returned to Fa rectification, went out to tell the truth, and asked people to quit the CCP and its associated organizations. She asked me to go to the Clearwisdom website to declare that her words and deeds under duress were null and void. During the whole process I felt just like Master had said,

I strongly believe that Master protects every one of us. We need to treasure every disciple by our side, help each other, and assist Master to rectify the Fa.

Along with the ongoing and enhanced Fa rectification process, after the Nine Commentaries were published, spreading the Nine Commentaries and helping people quit the CCP were the way to save lives, including those who did not know the truth and were involved in the persecution.

Not long ago I made a phone call to a 610 Office. The office head picked up the phone. He anxiously asked, "Are you calling from Taiwan? Are you telling me that 15,000,000 people have quit the CCP?" I was very calm, smiled and said, "Well, did you know that there is a parade in Hong Kong every month to support people quitting the CCP? Do you see that kind of news in China? Do you know that the Hong Kong police guided the way for the parade through the traffic? During the parade people also appealed to stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Are you ware of that?" He was surprised about the Hong Kong parades and asked if I practiced Falun Gong. I replied, "The citizens of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Mainland are generations of Chinese nationals with blood connections. Although Hong Kong is part of China now, people in Hong Kong, just like people in Taiwan, have the freedom to practice Falun Gong. The whole world except the CCP understands those people who abide by 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.' The purpose of my phone call is to ask to stop the persecution."

I was sending forth righteous thoughts during the phone call and hoped to awaken his kind nature. He eventually told me that he understood what I had said and commented, "When you Dafa practitioners tell the truth, you need to adjust your approach. Don’t pull out all the words at once; try to be a listener; to see whether or not people understand. You need to focus on what they do not understand and to hold your thoughts."

His last few sentences had pointed out my weakness. When I tell the facts on the phone to the people in China, particularly to those who work as police officers or for a labor camp, if the person on the other end slanders Dafa, I was not able to maintain my xinxing and started arguing, raising my voice to overpower the other person's. Now I realize that clarifying the truth is to have the person on the other end of the line understand what I am trying to tell him or her. If I do not do well, I will not rescue that life. Finally, that 610 Office head asked me to submit his resignation from the CCP for him on the website.

I feel that I am quite fortunate. I have been involved in a group Fa study for four years. I have built a good foundation on Fa study after exchanging ideas and discussing with the other practitioners. Although there are conflicts, and sometimes good or bad things have happened, we can exchange our thoughts based on the Fa. We have come a long way and telephone Fa rectification is a process of cultivation. Master said,

As Fa-rectification disciples we cannot wait to tell the truth or count on others. I will not stop calling until the persecution ends. Let’s help each other. Together we can do better.
