(Clearwisdom.net) In 1997, a former schoolmate introduced me to Falun Dafa. I felt like a child who had finally reunited with her long-lost parent. Ever since I started the practice, I have firmly believed in it. In the past few years of Fa-rectification, I have realized that there is not any tribulation that I cannot overcome if I closely follow what Teacher has taught us.
Teacher said,
"Clarifying the truth is the master key." (Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference)
In 2000, five other practitioners and I went to Beijing to validate Dafa. We did not expect the appeals office to be located at the dead end of a side street. Many police cars were parked there. Without any hesitation, we walked into the appeals office. Inside, a police officer asked us to leave. I asked him, "I am only a civilian, while you are an official of the country, a highly educated person. Will you speak the truth?" He said, "I am and I will let you go." Therefore, we walked out of the appeals office openly and nobly.
We later went to the Front Gate of Tiananmen Square. On our way there, we clarified the truth and told people about the goodness of Falun Dafa. While validating the Fa, I let go of the attachment to selfishness and gradually felt myself elevating in another dimension. In this state, the police became small and insignificant. I had no fear.
Throughout the entire ride back home, I clarified the truth on the bus. After the bus driver understood the truth, he did not allow me to pay the bus fee and took me home. I heard that there was a practitioner sitting at the back of the bus, so I went back there to clarify the truth and validate Falun Dafa. In such a righteous environment, the policeman who was escorting me back became speechless. The people who understood the truth on the bus gave us oranges and mineral water as a gesture of support.
Teacher said,
"No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil's demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won't be this way." ("Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful" from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
In March 2001, I was illegally sentenced to forced labor for attending a Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference. I was released after being detained for five months. At home, pressure came from every direction-- from my husband to the personnel from the street office, the police station and the security bureau. For a year, my husband closely monitored me and did not let me go to work. One time, as I was going downstairs, he pulled me back inside the house. I could not stand it anymore and firmly told him, "I have come to rectify the Fa...." Since then, he has not tried to stop me when I go out to clarify the truth.
I went to the police station and sent forth righteous thoughts for half an hour. After that, I went to look for a police officer, but could not find one. Then, I went to the security bureau to clarify the truth; however, my neighbor forced me off the bus. I used this opportunity to openly expose the persecution on the street. I said, "What is the crime in learning Falun Dafa and in being a good person? My family, the police station and the security bureau have all tried to interfere..." When I saw the police officer who tortured me, I cried out, "He is the one who persecuted me!" The officer was so scared that he moved a few steps back. The vicious people are afraid of being exposed. Later, the police persuaded my husband to quickly take me home.
One time, I was arrested while I was sharing experiences with another practitioner. To protest the illegal detention, I went on a hunger strike for five consecutive days. My health condition worsened and I was released. At home, I recovered 20 days later.
However, the police forcibly arrested me again from my neighbor's home. During the arrest, my family righteously stopped the police from swearing at Falun Dafa.
At that time, I had let go of the attachment to life and death and did not cooperate with the evil. Both the police and the detention center officials were afraid to take me in. Instead, six to seven policemen had to take me to a forced labor camp. The police tried to handcuff me. My heart was not moved and thus, they could not cuff me no matter how they tried. A policeman then called my name and it triggered my sentimentally. As a result, they finally succeeded in handcuffing me. At that time, I truly understood the meaning of Teacher's words, " Just by staying unaffected, you will be able to handle all situations." (Lecture on the Fa at the U.S. Midwest Conference, 1999, Chicago, provisional translation). I remained firm and would not cooperate with them even after I got inside the car. I clarified the truth to them and asked them to loosen the cuffs, which they agreed to do twice. Later, I vomited for three hours. Towards the end, I began to vomit blood. The labor camp was afraid and did not want to admit me. Instead, they released me unconditionally.
After I returned home, the street office personnel and the police continued to harass me by calling my house all the time, which disturbed my family. A few days later, I went to the police station with my child. I said, "You people always claim that you're doing good for the people. However, now my child cannot go to school and my family cannot live a normal life. I have come here to find out what to do about this." At that time, I was still physically weak, so the director of the police station told me that they would not send me to a forced labor camp anymore. However, he wanted me to sign a piece of paper, which I refused. I began to vomit again and this scared them a lot. They persuaded me to go home and take care of myself.
In 2003, the city set up brainwashing classes. The street office personnel came to my house to try to force me to attend. I had just finished my night shift job and was sleeping at home. My house was surrounded by police and that whole morning, they kept knocking at my door. I was in such a deep sleep that I did not hear them. I only learned about this incident after I woke up at noon to go out to look for my child. A fellow practitioner suggested that I not go home for awhile in order to avoid persecution. On the third day, I went home after work. They told me that the police had come every night to look for me and only left after they found out that I was not home. That same day, I went to the police station with my child, but no one was there. Later, the on-duty police officer called me back, and I said, "I am the practitioner you people are looking for. You can come over. I would like to talk to you." He did not want to come to my house and only replied that it should be discussed the next day. They had been looking for me for three days and today, I took the initiative to directly go to them, but they were afraid to come over. The next day after work, I went to the police station again, but they were not on duty. Again, I called the responsible person to clarify the truth. After she listened and understood the truth, she told me to just go to work and take care of my child well.
Teacher said,
"If you are not afraid, the factor that would make you afraid will cease to exist." ("Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)" from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
From my experiences, I would like to advise practitioners who have not eliminated the attachment to fear to quickly do so. If we let go of selfishness and steadfastly follow Teacher, then our Buddha nature will open up. Dafa can do anything and practitioners can do anything.
