(Clearwisdom.net) Two resolutions and a court ruling recently passed in the United States and Europe in support of Falun Gong, and in condemnation of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) crimes against Falun Gong. They attracted much attention among people of different backgrounds.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution condemning the persecution of Falun Gong and its practitioners on January 31, 2006. The resolution expressed the position of the City and County of San Francisco, asking the State Department and other federal officials to follow United States Congress Resolution 304. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors believes that the persecution of Falun Gong violates the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and it is the sense of the Board that Falun Gong practitioners should be free from persecution within the City and County of San Francisco and respective City agencies, including the police department and Human Rights Commission, who should protect the rights and safety of Falun Gong practitioners.
The Administrative Court of Dresden, the state capital of Sachsen, Germany, ruled that the actions taken by the German police against a Falun Gong practitioner during former Chinese President Jiang Zemin's visit to Germany on April 11, 2002 were illegal. In a court session held on February 1st, 2006, the three judges handling the lawsuit adjudicated: (1) It was illegal of the police to ask Ms. Wang to present her identification documents; (2) it was illegal of the police to record Ms. Wang's personal information; and (3) it was illegal of the police to order Ms. Wang to leave.
Ms. Wang, the plaintiff, indicated that she was pleased to learn of the court ruling. She said, "I am glad about this upright decision of the court. It is a strong signal to the German government and police that they shouldn't have submitted to the pressure of a foreign regime and abandoned their principles."
On January 25, 2006 a week ago, the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) in Strasbourg, France, which brings together parliamentarians from 46 European countries, passed a resolution that for the first time condemns the crimes committed by totalitarian communist regimes.
The resolution was adopted as a result of a report on "The Need for International Condemnation of the Crimes of Totalitarian Communist Regimes," authored by Göran Lindblad, a member of the Swedish parliamentary delegation to the Council of Europe. The report listed the crimes committed by the totalitarian communist regimes, and points out that the communist dictatorships have been characterized by severe violations of human rights since the very beginning. In order to achieve and maintain power, communist regimes have gone beyond individual assassinations and local massacres, and have integrated criminal activities into the government. The Council of Europe pointed out in its resolution that the crimes committed by totalitarian communist regimes have included individual and collective assassinations and executions, death in concentration camps, starvation, deportations, torture, slave labor, persecution against ethic minorities and religious believers, deprivation of freedom of belief, thought, speech and press and other crimes. The largest crime committed by a totalitarian communist regime today is the persecution of Falun Gong.
The CCP has diverted a huge proportion of China's national resources to persecuting Falun Gong. Over the almost seven years of the persecution, the Chinese people have been force-fed CCP lies about Falun Gong non-stop. The rest of the world is also subjected to CCP lies and hate propaganda against Falun Gong. Jiang Zemin, former Chairman of the CCP, even participated in spreading the lies personally. During his overseas state visits, Jiang Zemin personally distributed CCP hate propaganda targeting Falun Gong to the presidents or heads of many countries. The overwhelming torrent of lies deceived the whole world.
While the CCP spreads lies about Falun Gong and hides its persecution of Falun Gong, it carries out Jiang Zemin's order to "defame Falun Gong practitioners' reputations, bankrupt them financially and destroy them physically." As of February 20, 2006, 2,829 Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed dead as a result of the persecution. In addition, at least 500,000 to 1,000,000 Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced to prison, forced labor camps and brainwashing centers. Over 500 practitioners have been sentenced to 18 years in prison. Some of the many appalling methods of persecution include murder, hundreds of types of torture, rape, mental torments, psychiatric abuse, economic punishment, etc.
Many details of persecution and torture at the hands of the Chinese Communist regime were revealed when The Epoch Times published the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
In discussing the resolution, the Council of Europe Parliament referenced the book The Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression (ISBN: 0674076087.) According to the book's estimates, the Chinese Communist regime has murdered over 65 million of its own citizens, greatly surpassing the USSR, who had murdered approximately 20 million of their people. As a member of the parliament from Moldova put it, "To prevent such crimes from occurring again and to protect our future, we must condemn these crimes."
No lie, no matter its scale or severity, can stop the truth from being revealed! Falun Gong has spread to nearly 80 countries worldwide and has been granted over 2,590 proclamations, letters of support and resolutions. Falun Gong practitioners around the world persistently clarify the truth about Falun Gong and expose the CCP's cruel persecution of practitioners to the world. Practitioners have found many ways to clarify the truth about the persecution, such as making banners, signs, parades, rallies, candlelight vigils, torture re-enactment exhibits, press conferences, performing arts, and so on.
The truth continues to influence people worldwide. Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, western government officials and congressmen have repeatedly urged the CCP to stop its persecution of Falun Gong. On October 24, 2002, the Canadian Parliament passed a Private Members Motion (M-236), initiated by congressman Scott Reid, to ask the Prime Minister to take advantage of his upcoming meeting with President Jiang Zemin of China at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation [APEC] Conference to privately raise the issue of the continued imprisonment in China of 13 Falun Gong practitioners who have close family ties to Canada, and to emphasize that Canadians would be more willing to strengthen existing trade and aid ties between Canada and China if the 13 individuals were re-united with their families in Canada. In the Motion, the parliament also asked the Prime Minister to ask the Chinese Communist regime to stop spreading lies that twist the nature of Falun Gong and to release all the imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.
The voices of justice are rising and growing. The three aforementioned acts of support are signs that the force representing the call for justice in the international community is growing. This shows that the truth about Falun Gong has been spread widely around the world. In addition, it is a sign that the international community is becoming increasingly aware of the CCP's evil nature. Meanwhile, the people in China are becoming increasingly clearheaded and more and more of them are severing ties with the evil CCP by withdrawing from it and its affiliated organizations. All signs show that the lies the CCP uses to justify and sustain its persecution of Falun Gong have been completely revealed. With the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party being widely spread in China and the rest of the world, people are becoming increasingly aware of the CCP's evil nature and ultimately the world will reach a consensus. In the foreseeable future, the awakened Chinese people, as well as wider and more powerful international condemnation, shall completely end the totalitarian CCP's crimes in China.
The three aforementioned acts of support also illustrate the awakening of the conscience of the people around the world and have the power to restrain the evil force of the CCP from persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. More and more nations, people and governments are now capable of telling right from wrong, of becoming impervious to CCP economic incentives, to turn a blind eye to its cries, and of standing tall and upholding justice for Falun Gong. This illustrates once again that the forces of good have always been leading the development of history and the restoration of justice and truth. The recently discovered giant stone tablet hidden inside a rotten tree in Guizhou, China with the several hundred year-old inscription of "the death of the Chinese Communist Party" is a sign that the CCP is near its end.
By persecuting Falun Gong, the CCP and Jiang Zemin's gang have forced the Chinese people to completely abandon humanity and morality. There is an ancient Chinese saying, "Remain sober when the rest of the world is in confusion. Think of the just in times of stress." (From The Book of Songs)
Falun Gong practitioners inside and outside of China have been persevering in clarifying the truth about Falun Gong peacefully and rationally, despite the unprecedented tribulations. They have been facing the world with positive smiles, spreading Falun Gong's principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." Their heroic acts are like a torch that lights up in the darkness and leads people toward the light.
At the beginning of the Chinese New Year, the three actions of international support are like the beam of justice, foretelling that justice in the human realm is near. The CCP's murderers will be brought to justice. The evil CCP is close to the point of collapse. The long night will end soon and the dawn is imminent.
