A Young Taiwanese Practitioner's Experiences Clarifying the Truth in Hong Kong

Feb. 28, 2006 |   By a Young Practitioner in Taiwan

(told by the young practitioner and written and compiled by his/her mother)

(Clearwisdom.net) During the Lunar New Year season, I visited Hong Kong with my mom. This was my second visit to Hong Kong. The trip lasted longer than the last time. Compared to my last visit, there were more fellow young practitioners. Among them were an elder sister and an elder brother who are from the same area as me. The three of us clarified the truth, practiced the Falun Gong exercises, studied the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts together. My mom said we were a whole body.

On the second day, we visited Disneyland. Because the three of us did not stay focused while sending forth righteous thoughts, some fellow Hong Kong practitioners asked us to do it again after everyone else was done. Before this, I did not have too much pain when I sat with my legs crossed. However, that day, when I sent forth righteous thoughts in Hong Kong, I could not continue after 15 minutes due to the severe pain. Mom said it was because there was too much evil in Hong Kong, so it was especially important to send forth righteous thoughts there.

Some tourists would not accept the pamphlet, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, that we were passing out. Sometimes I would send forth righteous thoughts for them hoping they would still have opportunities to learn the truth. Although I wanted my parents to take me to visit Disneyland, we did not go in. Instead, we just passed out truth-clarifying materials at the entrance. Mom asked me if I wanted to go in and play. I said I did not envy those kids who were in there playing because I knew I did not come here to play.

On the third day, we went to Lok Ma Chau to clarify the truth. The tourists passing by from Mainland China paid special attention to us young practitioners sitting there practicing the meditation exercise. They must have been very surprised to see so many Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong, including us kids. Although I would open my eyes sometimes, I still made an effort to do better. Afterwards, we followed a lady and showed the truth clarification display boards to those tourists who were waiting in line for the tour buses. I felt that mainland practitioners' lives and cultivation were really hard due to the persecution. Mom told me that those people who were poisoned by vicious lies were the ones that were really miserable.

At night, we went to Kowloon Park to practice playing traditional Chinese waist drums for an upcoming parade. The music planned for the parade was "Xi Qing (Happiness and Celebration)," which we had not performed before. Yet we had to pick it up quickly and play drums while walking along at the same time. My mom and another lady carefully helped us count the rhythm and take notes by our sides. But their effort was in vain. Eventually, they gave up taking notes but we picked up on the rhythm quickly. My feet felt very sore and tired that night. However, I did not feel too much hardship because I came here only to validate the Fa.

On the day of the parade, our drumming and marching attracted many people. Prior to the parade, my mom had talked to me about not drinking water during the parade until after it was over. In the marching group, I was in the front row. Some adult practitioners told us young practitioners that when we felt tired, we could put down the drumsticks and just march along with the team for a while. However, I still made an effort to complete the whole parade because I knew I came there to play the drum. When we returned to our hotel at night, three of us young practitioners did not keep our Xinxing well and fought to be the first one to take a shower. Then, my mom had a talk with us. We decided to let Zanzan take the shower first. At the same time, Zanzan also decided to let us go first. After our Xinxing improved, there were no more conflicts.

On the last day, both my new friends returned to Taiwan. The rest of us carried our luggage to the High Court to send forth righteous thoughts. Mom discussed the Hong Kong government's blacklist with me and told me that my dad could not come to Hong Kong because of it. Later on, a fellow Hong Kong practitioner asked my mom to enter the High Court to send forth righteous thoughts. I was a child and could not go in, so I sat down beside Yunru and joined other adult practitioners in sending forth righteous thoughts, practicing the exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts, practicing the exercises, over and over again. Although I really wanted to find my mom and I was hungry, I endured it patiently. When mom walked out the court around noon, I hugged my mom and almost cried because I was nearly starving beyond my endurance.

The five-day trip ended quickly. Many adult practitioners, including my mom, asked me whether I was willing to and whether I would dare to come again next time. I spoke out loud, "I want to come again." Mom said my answer was beyond her expectations, and she was very happy and gratified. I have gained a lot of experience from this trip to Hong Kong and found plenty of room for improvement. I have shared my experiences above in the hope that other young practitioners and myself will further advance in our practice more diligently in the new year and go back home with our Teacher!
