Various Media Begin to Report on Sujiatun

March 26, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) Media are beginning to report the existence of the secret Sujiatun Concentration Camp, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, where Falun Gong practitioners are imprisoned. Their body organs are harvested and sold for profit. Their remains are cremated on site to destroy evidence. Falun Gong practitioners across the world held protest activities and called on international community to pay attention to the reports on organ selling from those practitioners missing or tortured to death.

VOA reported on March 23, 2006 that UK media reported that hundreds of Japanese and patients from other countries went to China for organ transplants. Thus organ transplantation in China is a very profitable business. Foreigners generally pay tens of thousands dollars to have liver or kidney transplants. Some of the organs are from death-row prisoners. Falun Gong practitioners claim that body organs of practitioners missing or tortured to death are also sold to hospitals in China.

The report stated that international media reported many times since 80s about news that body organs were harvested from death-row prisoners in China for medical research and transplantation. However, because China does not disclose the information of death-row prisoners, about 8000 every year, information on how these prisoners are killed and their body organ harvesting is only occasionally seen in foreign media reports. The Chinese Communist Regime has never provided concrete numbers.

Falun Gong practitioners hold hunger strike in front of White House

US Congress held a human rights hearing on Chinese hospital's selling body organs of death-row prisoners, which was testified to by Chinese dissident Hongda Wu. In addition, some Falun Gong practitioners held a hunger strike in front of White House to call on the international community to pay attention to reports on organ selling from those practitioners missing or tortured to death.

Mr. Guan Guimin, former member of Tianjin City Youth League Committee and renowned tenor, talked about his intention of participating in a hunger strike when interviewed by reporter, "As US citizens and residents, we hope that the US Government will pay attention to this matter and take action to investigate it. Or take some photos using satellite to confirm the charges."

UK Independent reported that organ transplantation in China is a very profitable business. During recent years, some rich Japanese patients went to China to seek organ transplantation in black market due to scarcity of human body organs available for transplantation in Japan. Since 2004, several hundreds of Japanese people have gone to China to receive organ transplantation.

US United Press International News reported that in Shanghai there are advisements in many locations about organ transplantation. In internet, there is such information. Currently the cost including surgery medical cost for kidney transplantation is $58,000 and for liver $85,000.
