(Clearwisdom.net) On Sunday, February 19th, an event was held in Edinburgh to expose the brutal history of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as well as some of the recent crimes that the CCP has committed both inside and outside of China. Many Falun Gong practitioners from Scotland attended the event.

This was a good opportunity for practitioners to highlight the greatest tragedy and injustice now happening at the hands of the CCP: the inhumane persecution and defamation of Falun Gong.

Despite the rain and cold at the outset of the event, the practitioners were not deterred and handed out many leaflets which exposed the CCP's crimes.

Falun Gong practitioners inside and outside China have been working tirelessly to expose, through peaceful means, the abhorrent persecution, to stop the killing and torture of innocent people and to restore the reputation of the core principles of Falun Gong, Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance.

The event also marked more than eight million brave Chinese people quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This historic movement to quit the CCP, never before seen in China, has been gathering momentum for over a year. The Chinese people have been waking up to the true history of the CCP, coming to realize the extent of the CCP's violence, disrespect for the rights of the Chinese people and discovering the horror of more than 2,800 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners from torture and abuse. The movement was triggered by the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party by The Epoch Times newspaper.

A notice board set up at the event site highlighted some recent crimes of the CCP: A Falun Gong practitioner and IT technical officer of The Epoch Times was recently bound and beaten by Asian men in his home and two laptops were stolen. A UK Falun Gong practitioner was assaulted while she was meditating during a peaceful protest opposite the Chinese Embassy in London. She was assaulted by a Chinese man who came out of the Embassy.

A man who stopped to sign the petition once spent four months in China. He felt it was shocking that websites about human rights and Falun Gong were prohibited in China. He said that he had been aware of the lack of freedom of speech and belief when he was in China, and found it sinister.

He commended this activity for putting the spotlight on the CCP's crimes.
