(Clearwisdom.net) It was in early 2001 when I first met Mr. He Xuezhao. He had just been released from prison.
Mr. He Xuezhao was a teacher in the Liyujiang Power Plant Dependent's School in Zixing City, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province. Ever since he started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, he diligently followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" in his daily activities. Everyone in his plant praised him for being a good person.
After July 20, 1999, when the Communist regime began suppressing Falun Gong in China, Mr. He was repeatedly persecuted. He was illegally detained for 10 days for attending outdoor group exercises. He was imprisoned in a forced labor camp for over a year for appealing for freedom of belief. In Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp, Mr. He was brutally tortured for practicing the Falun Gong exercises. He was locked in a solitary cell, and was forced to wear a straitjacket, a brutal torturing tool. The straitjacket was made of fine canvas specially designed for military use. The canvas was very hard, durable and wear-resistant. The jacket had no buttons on it, and was pulled on over the head. The sleeves were intentionally made close to the chest, instead of on the side, so as to pull the arms towards the chest. The sleeves and the trouser legs were intentionally made to be longer. The guards dragged Mr. He to a special dark room, forcibly pulled the straitjacket on him, and used the long sleeves and trouser legs to tie his hands and feet. Then they tightly tied the wristbands and bottoms of the trouser legs, as well as the waist and hips with a durable yellow strap that was intended for military use, so Mr. He couldn't move and would feel suffocated. To add to the torture, they forced Mr. He to wear a tight motorcycle helmet. Mr. He couldn't breathe normally. It was hot and suffocating, and he was unable to move at all. Every minute and every second seemed like endless torment. Mr. He was tortured for seven days and seven nights this way. His righteous thoughts however gradually strengthened; he said to himself "untie," and with Master's help, the straps used to tie the straitjacket miraculously came untied.
Mr. He held a hunger strike for seven days to protest the brutal persecution. The guards tied him up, handcuffed his hands and feet to the four corners of a special bed known as the "dead man's bed." At the same time, the guards force-fed him. He was tortured for four days and four nights before he was finally released from the "dead man's bed." Mr. He was released from prison in the first half of 2001.
Because of the continuous lies fabricated by the state-run media to defame Falun Gong, especially the staged "Tiananmen Self-Immolation case," many people had hatred toward Falun Gong. Zixing City was in a remote area, and true information about Falun Gong was even more severely blocked. Most of the local people were deceived by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) lies.
In order for people to understand the truth, Mr. He used his spare time to make and distribute truth-clarification materials. He often went out at midnight, and came back in the early morning. In the cold winter, his face was often frozen red.
One day, it was drizzling. Mr. He went to distribute materials on his motorcycle, over 60 miles away from Zixing City. When he came in, he was soaking wet. We asked him to have a rest next to the fireplace and to warm himself. However, he said he would have to go to work the next day. So he stayed for a few minutes and hurried back.
Right before the Chinese New Year in 2002, the 610 Office in Zixing City and Chenzhou City collaborated to arrest Mr. He, and persecuted him in a brainwashing center. The brainwashing class persecuted him in the same way as in the forced labor camp. Mr. He went on a hunger strike to protest and was released 8 days later.
One day in March 2002, Mr. He was teaching a class. Several policemen from Zixing Police Station forcibly took him away, and secretly brought him to the basement of a hotel in Zixing City. More than a dozen policemen tortured him, including the assistant head of the Liyujiang Police Sub-station in Zixing City and the assistant head of the Yanganlu Police Sub-station, led by Peng Yanshou. They took shifts to watch Mr. He in order to prevent him from sleeping. They beat him and kicked him. They hung him up with his hands cuffed behind his back, pulling him up until only the tips of his toes touched the ground. At the same time, the police pressed his head hard. Mr. He lost consciousness. When he woke up, he didn't know how long he had been unconscious. He was lying alone on the ground. Later, Mr. He managed to escape.
In those days when Mr. He was pursued by the evil, he couldn't go back home and couldn't teach his class. However, he built up the first Dafa truth-clarification materials production site in Chenzhou City, to help people to hear the truth of Dafa.
Later on, I was persecuted and I lost contact with He Xuezhao. He was said to have been arrested with five or six practitioners at the materials production site on November 7, 2002. He was illegally detained in the First Detention Center in Chenzhou for over a year. On November 3, 2003, He Xuezhao was illegally sentenced to an 8-year prison term by the Beihu District Court in Chenzhou. In March 2004, he was illegally imprisoned in the Jin City Prison in Hunan Province. Before the Chinese New Year of 2005, Mr. He was released on bail for medical treatment. He was in critical condition when he was carried home. He Xuezhao passed away on January 13, 2006.
I can hardly imagine how much torture Mr. He Xuezhao suffered in those three years - more than 1,110 days and nights. Those people who persecuted him will definitely have to pay for their sins.
