April 18, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the minghui.ca website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yu Ruilian from Hecheng Town, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province is in her fifties. Her family does not know where she is. It was reported that she was arrested when she went out to clarify the truth recently.

Ms. Yu Ruilian went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa many times since the persecution started. She was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor in 2000. During forced labor, she was cuffed and shackled yet still had to do heavy labor for 18 hours a day. After 6 months, she lost her eyesight, her legs became very weak, and she could not walk or stand well. She was refused admittance into Sanshui Labor Camp due to her poor health condition, and was released early upon her family's request.

Since February 2001, Ms. Yu Ruilian's whole family has had to abandon their home to avoid arrest. Her daughter Zhang Jin'e and her son Zhang Jinhai are both Falun Dafa practitioners. Her husband does not practice but he was still forced to undergo brainwashing in a drug rehabilitation center. Her daughter Ms. Zhang Jin'e graduated from college in 1999 and found a job, but she was fired due to the persecution, and was sentenced to two years of forced labor in Beijing.
