Taiwan: Tainan City Council Condemns the CCP's Illegal Organ Harvesting (Photos)

May 1, 2006 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in Taiwan

(Clearwisdom.net) Regarding the recent revelation of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and cremating their murdered bodies to destroy the evidence in concentration camps and forced labor camps throughout China, on April 21, 2006, more than half of the city councilors from the Tainan City Council co-signed a letter to US President Bush to strongly condemn and demand the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to immediately stop these inhuman acts.

The letter calls for President Bush to support the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) initiated by Falun Gong practitioners, and to invite credible international organizations to go to Mainland China to investigate the actual situation in all forced labor camps, including the brutal torture and abuse of Falun Gong practitioners.

Councilor Jiang Cang-Yuan calls for his colleagues to co-sign the letter to stop the CCP's inhuman persecution

Deputy councilor Guo Hsin-Liang, councilor Wang Ding-Yu, councilor Jiang Cang-Yuan and others from the Tainan City Council expressed their support to form an investigation group composed of Falun Gong practitioners and international human rights organizations to go to the mainland for a thorough investigation.

Guo Hsin-Liang expressed that there should be laws to regulate organ transplants. If the source of illegal organs can be eradicated, and the opportunities for people in other countries to go to Mainland for illegal organ transplants can be reduced, it should be able to effectively stop the CCP from killing dissidents for their organs to sell for profit.

He said that the CCP's actions have seriously violated human beings' safety, human rights and freedom of belief. It is an inhuman practice that breaches the International Human Rights Treaty. People from every democratic country should stand up to support the anti-persecution efforts.

Wang Ding-Yu said that of the 23 councilors, over half have co-signed the letter to support Falun Gong and stop the CCP's brutal killing.

He emphasized that the persecution of Falun Gong has violated human rights. The CCP regime should not persecute Falun Gong, but should allow Falun Gong to spread in the mainland. President Bush should make the voices of the world's anti-persecution heard to Hu Jintao during Hu's visit to the US.

Jiang Cang-Yuan said that Falun Gong is only doing exercises, but has been persecuted to such an extent. Practitioners have their organs harvested and sold for profit - it is really inconceivable. Anyone with a conscience will oppose such action. Rescuing people is like fighting fire. The international human rights organizations cannot remain silent any longer, but should actively organize investigation groups to go to the mainland for an investigation. The city council co-signed the petition to stop the persecution, and will encourage more colleagues to join them.
