(Clearwisdom.net) In the first week of May, the annual UCSD Cares event is held at UCSD. On May 2 and 4 of 2006, the students of the Falun Dafa Club set up a stall on the main road to the library to expose the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s appalling atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

UCSD has more than 20,000 students, and many people had previously heard of Falun Gong and the persecution in China. They accepted truth-clarification flyers. Some stopped, got more information from practitioners and signed the petition condemning the persecution.

The CCP's atrocities have aroused indignation among the faculty and students. One female student signed the petition after reading the flyer and asked how to help Falun Gong practitioners. A male student said that he knew about the incident a few days before and was very indignant. He was eager to join the activity of safeguarding practitioners' human rights. He said that he had experience lobbying congressmen and asked if practitioners would need him to talk to his congressman. Two students left their contact information and asked practitioners to contact them.

Students in neighboring stalls supported the Falun Gong practitioners. At the end of the event, they asked practitioners how things went. Upon hearing that many people signed the petition, they congratulated us and wished us well in future.

This was the third year that the Falun Dafa Club has participated in the USCD Cares event.
