Wilmington, Delaware: City Council Unanimously Passes Resolution Calling for an International Inquiry of Labor Camps in China

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 1, 2006, the City Council of Wilmington, Delaware, unanimously passed a resolution asking Delaware's Congressional Delegation to urge President Bush to call for an international inquiry of labor camps in China, where the CCP regime harvests human organs for profit from living Falun Gong practitioners, and call for the immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Below is the text of the Resolution.

Wilmington, Delaware

WHEREAS, Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) is a traditional Chinese self-cultivation practice, based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance that attracts millions of people of all ages and backgrounds; and

WHEREAS, Falun Gong is practiced in over 60 countries worldwide; and

WHEREAS, the Falun Gong practitioners who peacefully cultivate high moral qualities and experience increased health and well being, have been brutally persecuted in China since 1999; and

WHEREAS, there are allegations that Chinese concentration camps are harvesting organs of Falun Gong practitioners while they are still alive; and

WHEREAS, the largest concentration camp in China is purported to have over 120,000 people and

WHEREAS, the Chinese Communist Party is accused of selling the organs of camp prisoners for profit and/or cremating the remains of Falun Gong practitioners to destroy evidence and making an attempt to hide this atrocity from the world; and

WHEREAS, in the March 8th, Clearwisdom.net and The Epoch Times, exposed these atrocities to the world; and

WHEREAS, it took three weeks for Chinese officials to address the issue to the foreign media; and

WHEREAS, following the March 8th articles, the Falun Gong practitioners held in the Sujiatun Shenyang concentration camp were relocated; and

WHEREAS, an investigation is currently underway into the disappearance of Falun Gong practitioners from their homes; and

WHEREAS, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) has been formed in North America, Europe, and Asia to investigate the activity of these underground concentration camps; and

WHEREAS, a press conference was held on Saturday, April 27, 2006 in Rodney Square to appeal to stop the organ-harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and to stop the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WILMINGTON, that the City Council requests that the Delaware Congressional Delegation urge President George W. Bush to facilitate an international investigation of labor camps where Falun Gong practitioners are being held and to call for the immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
