On July 22, 2006, an annual city event for promoting peace was held in Augsburg, a city in southern Germany. People from communities of different nationalities living in the city took part in the activity. They displayed dances, costumes and art from different cultures.

Falun Gong practitioners have been taking part in this activity for several years. This year, practitioners from the area around Augsburg and Austria attended the activity together. At 1 p.m., the parade started, which drew a large crowd. They applauded enthusiastically for the procession. The parade route covered the main streets and the parade lasted for one hour.

When the local people found out about the persecution of Falun Gong, especially the horrible practice of organ harvesting from living practitioners, they were shocked and signed the petition to condemn the CCP’s crimes.

On this weekend, there were Falun Gong activities in many cities in Germany. The coordinator in Augsburg initially worried that there were not enough hands to play the drums and perform the dance. However, the Falun Gong group won warm applause from the audience only after a very short period of rehearsal.
