Please Treat Dafa Books with Respect

Aug. 11, 2006 |   By a practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) Obtaining Falun Dafa is the most glorious thing in our lives. Dafa gives us healthy bodies and minds. Simply for this reason, all of us who have obtained the Fa should treat Dafa books and Master's articles with respect, and not treat them as ordinary books and articles. Actually, in ancient times, students treated their classic books with care and reverence. These are basic and important things.

All of us who have obtained the Fa should treasure this precious book, which allows us to truly cultivate. From the bottom of our hearts, we should respect Master and the Fa just as we treat listening to Master's lectures. Some practitioners, however, do not treat this issue very seriously. The following are a few examples.

People cover their Dafa books with paper, but the paper that they use is random and not appropriate, they use colorful advertisements and magazine pages, etc. Bookmarks have the same problem. All kinds of things are used for bookmarks, such as tags, business cards, and pictures, etc. While reading the books, many practitioners' hands are not clean. Some practitioners dog-ear the pages. While reading the Fa, some lay down, some lay on their sides and some eat. Some of the Dafa books have become dirty inside and out. Some practitioners are casual about how they handle Dafa books. Some put Dafa books face-down and some leave the books open. Some practitioners put the books under pillows, under bed covers, or under their beds. Some practitioners with strong attachments of fear put Dafa books in the bathroom, under coal piles, or under the trash. Sometimes the hidden Dafa books were forgotten, and later they were chewed-up by mice, became mildewed, and some of them even showed water damage causing Master's picture and the words to fade.

I felt very sad when I saw these things happening. These practitioners do not treat Dafa books seriously. If you were told that you do not respect Master and the Fa, you might think it is not that severe, but what does this behavior reflect? Here we respectfully ask fellow practitioners to do well with righteous minds, gradually improve based on the Fa and eventually reach the standard of a true practitioner and respect Master and the Fa. Let's do better.
