Fuji Evening News (Japan): Falun Gong Organs for Transplant

Aug. 13, 2006

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 10, the Fuji Evening News reported that the appalling details of a report have become a hot topic. The report, released by an independent investigation group assembled by a former senior Canadian cabinet member, stated that the Chinese Communist regime harvests organs from Falun Gong practitioners for transplant

The report said that the investigation was performed by former Canadian Secretary of State (Asian-Pacific) and Senior MP David Kilgour and international human rights lawyer David Matas. The two recently released their "Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China." Because the communist regime rejected their visa application, they spent two months to write the report based on interviews with witnesses and phone interviews with Chinese labor camps and medical institutions.

According to phone interviews, a number of labor camps alleged that they have a lot (Falun Gong suppliers). The report included a phone conversation with the Mishan Detention Center in Heilongjiang Province. A Mr. Li from the camp answered the call:

M: "Do you have Falun Gong [organ] suppliers? ..."

Li: "We used to have, yes."

M: "... what about now?"

Li: "... Yes."

...

M: "... How many [Falun Gong suppliers] under age 40 do you have?"

Li: "Quite a few."

...

M: "Are they male or female?"

Li: "Male"

...

M: "Now, for ... the male Falun Gong [prisoners], How many of them do you have?"

Li: "Seven, eight, we have [at least] five, six now."

In addition, the Canadian report also included a testimony from a female eyewitness. Her ex-husband participated in transplant operations. Reportedly, within two years, the husband removed corneas from 2000 Falun Gong practitioners.

The report said, Falun Gong was founded by Mr. Li Hongzhi and combines the doctrines of Buddhism and traditional Chinese qigong. [Editor's note: Falun Gong is a standalone cultivation system with its own unique principles and methods.] Since 1999, the Chinese Communist Party has been persecuting the practice. The Canadian report also stated that since 1999 the Chinese Communist Party has put to death a large but unknown number of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience. Their vital organs, including hearts, kidneys, livers and corneas, were virtually simultaneously seized involuntarily for sale at high prices, sometimes to foreigners, who normally face long waits for voluntary donations of such organs in their home countries."

The report said, in fact, organ transplant in China has always been under question by the international community because China has no tradition of donating organs after death and sources of the organs were rarely disclosed. Nevertheless, 60,000 organ transplants operations were performed (in China) from 1999 to 2006.
